Does anybody know whether this crappy cup competition still has the ridiculous rules whereby we are restricted in the number of changes we can make for fear of getting fined by the EFL or has that been changed for this year?

The rules prevent us making too many changes so i think it will be a strong side. If there is serious interest in bodin i dont think he will be in the squad tonight or at least not starting so that will be interesting.

Think the rules are the same because the idea is that prem league under-23 play against experienced pro"s. IF they allowed rovers to play a youth team or weak team it would be of no benefit to the young premier league future england players. Of course none of us give a stuff about any of that and neither do the prem league teams in truth.

I'm sure the number of changes to the team rule has been relaxed, but I don't know the detail. It would be pretty poor if we got fined for not playing the likes of Lockyer and Sweeney when they are two young players that have been called up for International recognition and that we have developed and helped to develop respectively. We need to use tonight to get a new centre back partnership up to speed for Saturday.

In b4
"I heard the players had to drive themselves because the coach company haven't been paid for months! Someone on the terrace told me they're owed £90k and loyal gasheads too and I heard it from 12 guys in the pasty queue and 27 guys in the SC bar so that's 39 independent sources!"

Couldn't care less about this competition, but would be nice to beat them b*stards whether it was football or tiddly winks. Rovers 2-1 and Telford to get some proper game time!

As much as the competition has been hugely devalued by the lunatics running the asylum tonights game is a big one for us...
Bradford saturday, we are on a mini confidence boosting run, live on Sky and our central defenders on International duty with neither having much chance of match day involvement. So vital we blood a new pairing. I wasn't overly impressed with Tom or Ryan against Fleetwood, both distribution was average to poor and Ryan I felt was untidy in the build up that led to Devante Coles goal.
So a chance for Tom Broadbent hopefully and a.n.other .... Will be interesting to see if the 'Ghost' Johnny Burn is called up or whether Joe Partington slots in and young Bola comes in again at right back. I also like the idea of Bola at left back instead of Lee Brown to see what he can do in his favoured position, leaving JP at right back, Burn and Broadbent in the centre.
Hopefully Dom Telford gets some time as well alongside Rory or Ellis.
Lots to play for individuals and hopefully this will carry us home tonight...
My team would be ... 4-4-2
Slocombe
Bola Burn Broadbent Partington
Bodin Clarke Lines Sercombe
Harrison / Gaffney Telford

Broady and Burny are both first teamers, in any case.

We should play the walking football over 70's side. Total waste of space of a tournament
