With what DC and his staff have achieved, with lets be fair not the biggest investment in the first team, i believe we will soon reap the rewards of what is being put in place now. We've seen what improvements they have got out of players none of us had heard of, we can't pay big money we never have but at least we can now see a production line of our own where some will be first teamers.

What I guess will happen is that players with the right attitude will come through the ranks. This is something DC has always made a point of emphasising. Its not just the ability its the personality too. Tony Pulis has often mentioned how his time at Rovers shaped him and many other players and holds those responsible for that in very high esteem.

"Remember the name Jordan Williams .... this kid should never be let go .... he has electric pace + every match ive seen him play ( about 8 or 9 ) he's been the best player on the pitch. He is the quickest right back and is like Jason Demetroiu but doesnt often stub his toe , fall over or shoot wide ....
Good luck son ,,,,, you ve still got a great career ahead of you ..."
From a bloke on Southend Forum.
It's good to see we are picking up highly rated youngsters from all over for our development squad.

Totally agree and I hope we are also keeping a close eye on local talent.

Previously trialled at Wolves and Forest Green during his time at Western League side Odd Down. Played 5 times so far this season.

Jordan Williams He has electric pace He's a right back so let's get him in behind Red Bully Bodin on the grid.

To me the development squad and the robust additions being made rapidly is the most positive thing happening right now at the club,we even payed compensation for rhys kavanagh! Rollin menayase played v west brom and forest green in friendlies as well as appearing last night at wycombe so hes not so far away imo.

What about giving this guy some first team time whilst Parts and Leadbitter are injured. If we are serious about bringing development players through to the first team then isn't this an opportunity to do exactly that? I understand that he would need to be recalled from his loan spell at Poole Town but it's worth the consideration.

Russe has been getting closer with a debut, a couple of times on the bench and a contract extension but it's hard to say that he has actually made it yet. I would hope that in the next 1-2 years, we can get 2 at least into the starting eleven and maybe sell a couple on for a tidy profit but it will take time.

No but there is a real intent at the club to produce players through the development route and its encouraging. Menayese playing for swindon is quite startling,i cant remember a young 1st season rovers player being loaned out to a team just below us in the pyramid before. I think russe, hargreaves and menayese are close to a breakthrough at rovers but of course time will tell.
