Thought he was pretty good except a drop ball when the player lies on it to stop the game? That can't be right can it? That was an outrageous incident. A clear case of cheating which was left unpunished. Justice would have seen a penalty given. Anyone know what the actual rule is (assuming he didn't handball it)?

Pretty sure if the ball becomes "accidentally" trapped it's a drop ball, it probably wasn't an accident but we're really clutching at straws hoping to sneak a 3-3 draw on the back of an indirect free kick in the box!
More to the point why didn't Lines hit the shot with power into the net rather than a powder puff pass towards goal allowing the block.

Woeful goalkeeping, plus very tame, amateur defending, stopped us getting a result. We seriously need to stop the amount of goals we're conceding. Be lucky to finish half way if we continue like this. There was only one team in it in the first half, but you need to score when dominating. Didn't you mean Harrison need to score,he had 2 or 3 chances any decent Div 1 striker would have taken, meanwhile the on form Gaffney is dropped. The DC approach of using every game as a project is starting to get frustrating, on Saturday it'll be our defensive line up, Tuesday the "reserve" line up, a week Saturday back to the attacking line up, how can players get any consistency in their games.

Forgetting the game for a minute. How embarrassing was it to hear a portion of young fans in the North Terrace singing about German bombers and the IRA?! I'm so glad a bunch of us retorted by singing that their songs were outdated and that in all likelihood they "had school in the morning". The world is scary enough at the moment without our own fans becoming all "Britain first" on us. oh we got our own idiots in the east terrace, 2 dumb tarts shouting racist comments about their number 9 and the stewards doing feck all

A simple statement covers the whole experience last night... It was a sh*t game, in a sh*t stadium with sh*t weather. Oh and Brown and Leads had poor games

A few comments from tonight 1- DC makes too many changes. 2- He picked one of the most lightweight teams I can remember seeing. 3- He selects out of form players. 4- Smith was obviously injured, why did he stay on the pitch. 5- Our movement was non-existent up front until Rory came on. 6- I'm not a Byron fan, but thought he played well. 7- Billy was played out of position, but that's not an excuse for not defending. 8- Thought with the exception of Leads, the defence played well. 9- Smith should have saved the first 2 goals. 10- Oldham were nothing special, just not as bad as us. Did you post that he made too many changes during the 2 promotions and the high finish last season? Thats his style, where have you been?? I dont think any keeper would have saved the 1st goal with the fierce wind behind him and no pressure from our midfield,no wonder it flew in. No, don't normally post on here due to people replying trying to start an argument! Been watching the gas since the 70's and go to nearly all home games and some away games, enough of a cv to post on here if I choose to. Said it every time it happened during DC's reign to the people I go with. DC has done an amazing job and had success we could only have dreamed of, but that does not mean people have to agree with everything he does. From my angle in the West enclosure, I would expect any professional keeper to save that first goal. The midfield appeared to be taken by surprise the goal kick help up in the wind and as a result weren't in a position to get near the guy, so poor positioning by our midfield and bad keeping for me.

For what its worth, as I saw it:
- I don't mind DC's changes, rotation is part of modern football and most teams do it. - DC gives his players chances to play themselves back into form. If he hadn't done that with Bodin early last season, we wouldn't have the player we have now. Pros are greater than the cons. - Back 2 played fine, Lockyer was my man of the match. The defending issues came from midfield, due to the next point - DC was at least semi-forced to play 4 in midfield last night, and it didn't suit us. We are a skillful team, but a little lightweight in midfield, and the lack of an extra body in the middle last night was clear. We were much better when Lines came on. But injuries forced the selection really. - Conditions like that are a leveller. We failed to take advantage of the wind in the first half, after that we were in trouble. - Dreadful goalkeeping errors. I hope they were due to injury. - Rory was excellent. If I were DC, I would consider playing both Rory and Ellis next time.

First half. Created several chances with the wind and rain advantage but failed to take any. Bury were playing to get to the break on level terms and almost took the lead when they hit the bar. Second half. Bury attacked us more and we failed to deal with them and the weather. A combination of naive defending and poor goalkeeping gifted them a two goal lead. We brought Gaffney and Lines on and immediately improved, quite simply because they were much better than Harrison and a dreadful Ollie Clarke. We scored two goals in quick succession and then gifted them the lead when three of our players were outwitted by one of theits. Naive defending is a kind way of putting it. Another game that showed we are three or four players short of a reasonable team. Not good enough , end of story. And we get upset when we get called "Bristol" let alone a completely different place! My apologies for calling them Bury. After a two hundred mile round trip to Bristol on Saturday, the same Monday for family visit and another trip tonight rounded off with a, shall I say testing drive home in arduous conditions, now tells me I should not have posted at such a late hour. I must be getting old! Or on second thoughts not bad for a sixty seven year old Gashead! UTG!

I think i have come to terms already after watching the 7 league games that we are looking at mid table/bottom third.
We ship far too many goals, DC needs to be brave and drop a few players and give others a chance. Id like to see Partington, Sweeney, Lockyer Bola in the back 4 on Saturday. I don't think Brown has been particularly bad or deserves to be dropped but we must try something different. I am happy with the number GKs and the quality, i thought Smith had a broken hand so why he was in goal last night i dont know.
Midfield been very lightweight so far, not being able to sign another wide player and a DM is being paid for. I actually thought Byron Moore played okay for 40 minutes and put in some really good crosses.
Dont know who our best pairing is again it would seem.
Would love DC to pick a team and if they do well in one game, stand by it and see if they can do it again. As much as every team we play against is different, i would expect professional footballers to be able to adapt to the games without the need of 3/4 player changes. We are struggling for consistency and playing the same team for consecutive games could help.

We only just beat a poor Walsall side on Saturday - and they got thrashed last night by Rotherham. Last night was really poor. Why no Gafney, Lines or Partington on at the start ? We need to win these games because with our squad we are unlikely to beat the top teams. We have no depth of quality in our squad, which doesn't bode well at all. Oldham have got a new (part-) owner and lots of new loan players. You could see a mile off what would happen last night after they got a point on Saturday. We were a bunch of mugs. UTG

You can't blame it on the weather. Oldham had to play in it as well! I used to be a tidy striker, and I loved conditions like last night, as it meant defenders were liable to make more mistakes than usual. Dare I say it, but Bradford away, and last night, we could have done with The Beard? Other things for DC to ponder. I didn't see the game, but apparently Bola was outstanding at Fulham. Should he be given a start? Telford. One appearance, two goals. Should he at least be brought on at some stage, or even start a game? Partington - Has to play more. I understand that he is still building his overall fitness up, but so far he has been very good every game he has played. Of course, we do not see what goes on in training. How do players perform?, do they impress? We do not know about any niggling injuries etc.

Why people can't accept the other team might deserve some credit is beyond me. And yes,Bola was bloody great at Fulham & deserves a start.
