I hope dc gets the birmingham job. For whatever reason the board havnt provided the promised budget and getting out would spare him all the undeserved abuse and rubbish that will be aimed at him if we struggle in the bottom half this season. Really ? The Birmingham job, that's worse than the Leeds one last year. Well anywhere a manager goes he will get sacked if the team struggles including bristol rovers so why not?

The reason we are struggling is there for all to see. Chopping and changing the team for little or no reason, and again today, no game plan. Wigan didn't strike me as impressive in any way. They didn't need to be. We made it easy for them. i know it's Wigans ground, but why, yet again, did we give them the freedom of it? And I mean before the sending off. I wasnt at the game so obviously good to hear from people who were. I think after 2 promotions many players have found their level, add to that poor form and injuries and were in a sticky patch. The managers style has always involved changing the team around. If you lose games whatever your style is its wrong and if you win its right.

Well that a strange view... need to put what's right for the club before any individual including DC. Efforts being made to sign players until a day or two before the deadline which suggests there was still money on the budget come deadline day. Maybe but don megson was a hero but wasnt backed by the board struggled on for years and by the time he left nobody wanted him at rovers or anywhere else. Same with holloway really, sold off cureton and roberts and got the sack. I would prefer dc to go now rather than struggle and have most people turn on him. For what it will be like for him if he stays just copy and paste stuff from the OTIB forum when city were struggling under cotterill and johnson last season.

When I first saw this thread I thought someone was about to suggest Harry here. Thank goodness it wasn't. DC would be mad to go to Birmingham, as Somersetgas said, it's worse than Leeds. UTG!

Just gunna sit back with a box of pop corn and see how this goes down.. All managers know they will be sacked one day, it comes with the job. If DC feels he has been left short by the board in improving the team this season and thinks we will struggle he'll jump ship. There is no manager on earth who will brave that walk past the Blackthorn End if things are going badly. Ask Paul Buckle!

These contracts are just so interested clubs have to pay compensation. I hope DC can turn it round, which just makes him more attractive to a championship club!

He'd be mad to stay here though and watch his reputation disappear down the toilet cos he's had no backing. For a club like Rovers, the increased support staff, money spent on players DC would have wanted, the training ground development (when it comes, slowly I know) and the development squad is as good a backing as it's ever been for any manager. We are Bristol Rovers not a PL or even Championship club. And, and for DC I suspect it's very important, he's allowed to manage how he wants with no interference. Having signed a 5-year deal means that he's likely to be here for some time which tends to disprove your assertion that he's had no backing. Had he not had backing he would not have signed such a long contract which will now make it very, very expensive for any club to get him. UTG!

Just gunna sit back with a box of pop corn and see how this goes down.. I will start cooking the popcorn then has Dc lost the plot if so let him go to brum and we can have Harry. We need some fresh blood I hope your post is ironic, i would not wish to see "Arry" as our manager. He is as toxic as you can get within the game; absolutely minted (tax avoidance) and no real appetite for the game. All he would do is sign a load of hasbeens on top dollar and take us further down the league, in my opinion

And if experience is anything to go by, on the brink of bankruptcy like he did with Bournemouth and Portsmouth just after he left. No thanks. UTG!

Funny how people now seeing that DC hasn't been backed to turn is into a comfortable fighting league 1 side.
We still have team of players who have achieved great things for us, brought us back from non league, but now we are relying on them to overcheive again.
Fed up of reading by some saying that it would be bad for us to get promoted now with our ground, really? Yeovil been into the championship for god sake. The team need a makeover, some players no longer up to it or can take us any further. I would rather see us challenge this year go up and come back down than see us struggle in league 1 until a ground is ever built.

As for the 2nd point - my heart agrees with you, my head doesn't.

DC has always said he isn't willing to pay over the odds. he wants value and the right characters for the team/squad dynamic. Maybe he has turned down players because of that, not because he hasn't got money to spend.
maybe that is a mistake by DC (not sure I would say that) but that is his thinking, the way he does things

If the board don't like they way DC operates they could always sack him.... oh wait he has just signed a 5 year deal... that tells me they are right behind him
