Great stuff. Trust gas heads to turn this into a conspiracy about the stadium. This takes time so it's prudent to investigate options short term. If anything, the statement gave me more confidence things will start moving as they seem reluctant to invest in changes which seem significantly structural - implies there's a good reason coming up why they might not want to build roofs or update clubhouses. You can only dream so dream on or are you wael?

You can only dream so dream on or are you wael? "At the moment, we are unable to implement the following ideas put forward; A roof for the East Stand improved Clubhouse facilities or open the ground any earlier on matchdays." "However, in the short term, it is not possible for us to have a larger shop/store." "Whilst some have suggested relocating the ladies toilets, we are afraid that this is not possible at this moment in time." Would you expect them to do more if a build was under consideration which would render these worthless almost immediately after they're achieved? I'd expect them to do more on this front if something wasn't happening. To me the tone of these is a little reassuring.

Gasandelectricity they are BANKERS and all they think about is financial gain that's why the uwe fell through so imo they got plans for the stadium but not necessarily for BRFC so don't get your hopes up UTG

Has to be said at least they're trying. Genuinely why can't they improve the clubhouse? Is it listed?(stop giggling) Is it riddled with asbestos? The Bristol Room still has a skittle alley ffs.
I emailed Tom when he was announced, and fair play to him he replied straight back.
I asked why we don't have a shop at The Mall (being South Glos an' all), with the footfall they have there, the M5 etc, all the south west plus it's due to be expanded by a third we'd be silly not to take advantage. Tom replied and said it's usually price of the unit, they charge a premium (negotiations to be had I feel, especially with the amount of empty units they have there).
I then mentioned Tesco's at Yate, since the rebuild in 2011 it's had 3 units on the side that have never been used, 6 nearly 7yrs of zero rental income, Tom said that when he was at Brighton this one was area he was going to look at, so could be an option for something similar (obvs there's other town centres).
He did say that Rovers will have to sort their own shops out first before looking into other options.
Also - Why don't we just make our own Skittles team, then they can get money midweek too behind the bar!

Why do some people always have to turn positives into negatives?
The new CD has only been here a few weeks, he's obviously targeted things which can be done quickly and simply to make the matchday experience a bit better for Gasheads. Surely we don't have to look for a deeper meaning in everything that happens?

Surely we don't have to look for a deeper meaning in everything that happens? Nothing wrong with making minor improvements, though in all fairness most of this should have been done years ago. The thing is we Would all have hoped to be giving suggestions on our sparkling new stadium rather than eking out another few years out of this place. Fair play to whoever for small mercies, but excuse me if after recent events I am less than enthralled.

As is said - you need to speculate to accumulate - the Mem is only going to lose value if they don't do anything with it and therefore they need to invest in the club if they want to make money out of it. You don't buy a club like Bristol Rovers to make money out of it unless you intend to improve the fortunes of the club on and off the pitch so they need to get their act together sooner or later.

Good news: I have just received this from Guinness Book of Records - Claim ID: 7804 Membership no. 68810 22nd September 2017
Dear Jock, C/O Bristol Rovers Football Club.
I am pleased to inform you that you have been successful in setting a new Guinness World Record under the category of 'Most miserable gits gathered in one place every other Saturday'. A certificate to commemorate this achievement is on it's way to The Memorial Stadium, Bristol.
Details for this achievement have now been entered into our database.
Although your certificate does not automatically guarantee an entry into our annual book, our managing editors do consider all new records for potential use in future Guinness World Records publications and products.
Once again welcome to the very select brand of Guinness World Record Holders!
Yours sincerely Sophia Whitely Records Research Services

The P A system in the South stand used to be OK, then all of a sudden it stopped working, good to hear its back on for tomorrow. don't worry about that. we will soon be rebuilding that stand anyways... 👀

CD doing the right thing looking at fans want and fair play to him. But.. can't hide the fact we have just walked away from new stadium and will remain in tinpot ground for the foreseeable future. Best thing about it is the new pitch and even that is cutting up.

I get that there is disappointment and mistrust re. the UWE collapse, which is obviously not going to be offset by these small improvements. I'm just pleased that the fans are be listened to with regard to things which can be fixed quickly.

I often thought that. Until a mate of mine who owns a couple of bespoke hair salons enquired about The mall. Rent and Rates for a salon which could house 8 cutting stations and all the sinks and equipment came to just over £100k per year. Financially not viable to make decent money. Those kind of units are aimed at massive chain department stores.

I try to be as positive as possible on here but I have to have a moan today. The P.A. system in the north terrace was absolutely abysmal today. It's usually bad but you can just about make out what's being said, but today I honestly couldn't hear anything. You could tell how bad it was because there was no singing along with the warm up music - no one knew it was playing. If the 50/50 money wasn't claimed could someone post the numbers on here please.
