Without Locks & Sweeney I'll be happy with a 1-1 draw

3 - 1 win they are there for the taking. Don't worry about not having much of a defence, we seem to have got by like that for the last couple of years! They will be crappping therselves after Elllis's super show in the 5 - 0 drubbing.

I'm going for 1-1 with Nicholls finally getting on the scoresheet (hopefully not an own goal).

3-0 Rovers.
Linesy puts us 1-0 up on 31 mins with a thunderbolt from just outside the box capping a run from deep inside his own half.
Ellis and Gaffers are superb upfront winning everything in the air and not giving the Northampton defence a moment's peace. Unfortunately neither scores a deserved goal.
Nichols and Telford come on in a double substitution on 60 mins and immediately forge an irresistible partnership, both scoring superb goals. Nichols is a brilliant solo effort shrugging off one tired challenge after another.
Billy and Byron both play as wingers running their opposing full backs ragged, creating space in field which the strikers exploit.
The Beard returns and runs non-stop for 90 minutes destroying the Cobblers attacking mid-field.
Broadbent is commanding at the back, leading a back line including Parts, Browner and Bola. Other than set pieces they rarely stray into the opposing half concentrating on defending all game.
Slocs has little to do other than easily catching a couple of corners and a free kick just outside his six yard box, but he can be heard throughout the game marshalling the troops.
Lines is withdrawn on 65 mins to a standing ovation. Sercs immediately imposes himself on the game and with Sincs shuts down the game and sees us through a stress free last 25 minutes.
The travelling gashead hordes are magnificent throughout and have time to come up with a song for Bryon.
Nobody gets injured. JC, Leads and Burns are all fully fit and have impressed in training as has Oli. Sweeney and Locks are back from international. DC picks an unchanged side for the Oxford home game.
Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers, Come on Rovers.

I have remained pretty positive since my first game in 1967- with the possible exception of Braintree away- when I did briefly discuss with my brother whether we would continue to support Rovers when we got into the Downs league.

Would be happy with a draw but have a feeling we will sneak a win in what I feel will be a tough game Also think the Beard will play some part

Northampton have a lot of injuries so if DC wants to roll the dice and outscore them then fair enough, but we have only won 3 away in the league in 2017 (Oxford , Wimbledon and Bury) and have a patched up central defence so will predict 1-1.

When was the last time we had a draw?
Answer....Feb 28th Bolton away.
Screw it I'm going for a gas win 3-1! But I might stick a few quid on a draw just in case 😉

A solid 1-0 away win to ease our stresses, end the jumpy start and prepare for the traditional storming towards the playoffs.
