There is an article about Broadbent's journey from the Army to professional football on the BBC website apparently will feature on Football Focus tomorrow too.

Based on the here and now, the boy can play and I think he has a great opportunity over the next few years to become a first team regular. The sort of guy you want in the dressing room - down to earth and not fazed by events. Club captain by 2020? Maybe.

Yeah, I was thinking the same after watching that, future captain material for sure. I can just imagine him barking the orders at the lads from the back line as if they were on the battlefield. The one positive about Locks and Sweeney being absent for internationals (and their red cards!) is that it has given him the opportunity to shine earlier than you would have expected. The other great thing for the future is that he's our player. So thinking ahead for next season it is doubtful we would get Sweeney again but if Broads continues to progress and impress at the rate he has so far I would be happy to see him as first choice for centre back alongside Locks. UTG!

Tommie Broadbent has the potential to be one of the first names on the team sheet.

WOW....I'm humbled to 'you know what'. Personally, I tend to look at all the Gas as 'heroes', but in this case, he truly is. Your very good health Lance Bombardier Broadbent Sir. UTG!
