Does that include the 21 match unbeaten run of away matches between Sep 2014 and the end of Aug 2015? You don't read the posts - I did correct myself -.since we've been back in the EFL. You're right, I missed your post. Maybe I should make a habit of it (joke) It's tough on the road when you don't have a team bursting with quality. I tend to agree that we need to set up to be hard to beat away rather than going for it hammer and tongs. DC has played this way in the past, notably in League 2, when our away record was pretty good. I think we're likely to see a return to these tactics now.

Paul hurst the Shrewsbury manager has no experience at L1 level and apart from a play off promotion at Grimsby where it took him 4 attempts to get out of the conference he hardly set the world alight in L2. And I think that's the problem here. We had so much success under DC so quickly some now think he is out of his depth. When really we have just levelled off.
This year he has had to build a new spine of a team for this season, there will be ups and downs, I am not saying that we shouldn't expect to be better than what we are because we should be. But let's give this DC bashing a rest. There is no other manager in L1 who I would rather have at our club. There is no manager in L2 that is better than what we have.
We are damn lucky we still have DC, he has shown us loyalty in the past, time for us to show a bit back in a rocky spell. Get to January and then make some signings and have a good go towards the end of the year.

Inept tactics from an arragant Manager who thinks he is being clever changing formation and personnel each week. There has never been a successful Manager in football who has done this, been lucky in the past time to move on. f**k me this is almost as embarrassing as the lansdown get your Johnson out banner.

Others may not agree but to be fair you make a very valid point, rose tinted the rest it seems

Basics of football “ do not concede” 28 goals conceded in 14 games enough said. Is that before or after the bit about getting successive promotions? yesterday's news, today's chip wrappers , his tactical approach to every game in league 1 is questionable especially away from home and the stats don't lie, not sure I'd replace D.C. but he needs to adopt tactics that make us a stronger opposition defensively on our travels because in the past 2 seasons our away form has been atrocious and it's only our home form that has kept us from being involved in a relegation scrap, clearly things need to change tactically which means Dc needs to pull his head from his harris.

Just got back from the match after much ribbing by a coach load of shrews Tonight was an embarrassment to the club and an insult to the fans First half we did not have a clue and it has been a long time since I have heard the team booed off and so mch anti the keeper Second half was a little better mainly due to the beard getting stuck in Why o why did he sub gaffney when it was only him and Ellis doing anything fr the team The biggest cheer of the night was when we won a corner late in the second half Is d c inept I am not sure and those who at he got us 2 promotions back to back are you happy with this sort of form I personally think he has taken us as far as he can and he needs to get experience elsewhere and not at our cost We need an experienced league 1 or championship manager at the least So I am afraid to say dc's is that you are fired get your taxi and thanks for what you have done for the club but you are now out of your depth Come off it mate you could stick Pep Guardiola in DCs shoes and we would still be crap he's got no money to spend! When he goes to a bigger richer club he will be a headliner You're joking right? He's just spent 6 figures on a cows ass banjo ffs

Thank * some of you lot aren’t chairman and in charge of hiring & firing at Rovers. Dear me.
Anyone would think we’re bottom of the league and yet to win a game.
No, performances and results like last night aren’t good enough, but as if our start to the season has been anything like bad enough to even consider getting rid of one of our most successful managers ever...
Scary place, this.

At one point last season we were going behind early doors but would be patient, tire them out, come from behind (stop it Balders) and nick it at the death with a couple of late goals. Are we suffering from “second album syndrome” or are the opposition just better this time?

The goals we have been conceding have got to be a massive concern, we have the players but tactically we are wrong away from home and D.C. Needs to quickly realise this and tighten up at the back and play with a more measured approach keeping it tight at the back and perhaps attacking on the counter

Still got confidence in DC but he needs to reflect on the mistakes he's made this season. As I've said before it's now about scrapping as many points as possible and looking to address some of the squad weaknesses in the January window.
I think DC got pre-season very badly wrong, too many pre-season games mean't a lack of focus on recruitment which has limited the systems he can play.
He knew he needed a defensive midfielder - someone who can plug that gap in front of defense and stop teams running at us on the break. Must be a priority in January.
He knew he had a leaky defense but thought the answer was Sweeney but the result is too little experience in central defense. Broadbent and Meyanese are too inexperienced at present and are learning their game, Burn seems out of the picture and Lockyer has stopped improving. Needs an old head to help out the defense and then loan-out either Broadbent or Meyanese to gain experience.
DC has a relatively big squad and it's a lot for him an Stewey to manage and coach and still find time for scouting and player recruitment. DC should have replaced Yates over the summer and perhaps needs to find a good recruitment consultant to reduce reliance on agents.
DC got good value in Sercombe but paid well over-the-odds for Nichols and blew a big chunk of his budget on a player who is a 10 goal a year striker at best and will be lucky to get 5 this year. Technically good but not physically strong enough particularly without the shelter of a big old fashioned centre forward along side him. Thankfully Harrison seems to have stepped-up to the plate and Gaffney has showed he can compete at this level.
DC also knew he needed a wide-man in his squad but failed to recruit after releasing Montano meaning 4-4-2 is never a real option.
So the problems faced this season could in hindsight all be anticipated and should and could have been addressed. Some can be addressed in January but I think DC will need to swallow some pride when it comes to appointing an extra coach as he might see this as admitting he's not got all the answers but all good managers have a good coach along-side them and someone who has a word in the manager's ear when think go wrong.
It's now about steadying the ship the next couple of months and that means being tighter away from home and recognizing that sometimes you need a more defensive system and then he needs to make time in January to address the known weaknesses in the squad. Certainly a testing time for DC and it starts with Rochdale away which will test his and the team's resolve.

We won our last away match 6-0 then we've lost away 4-0. Better than drawing both and we're only a few points off the play offs. No need for most of the abuse on here DC took us a long way in a short space of time and now we've levelled off. I think some of our fan base are demanding 3 promotions in 4 years well that's 99% not going to happen so either like it or lump it.

Get a grip! Yes we got stuffed away from home, yes it was a poor performance, but calling arguably our best ever manager inept is beyond ridiculous!

Sorry mate what's lofl mean ? Laugh out fookin loud Oh right , just telling it how I see it. I reckon we're neither punching above or below our weight currently. But after three years of success I think DC deserves more respect and more patience from the fans that are calling him inept.
