Am I mistaken in thinking that Geoff Dunford had written, or was in the process of writing a book regarding his time at Rovers? If so, does anyone know when it will be published? Nick Rippington has written an article for Vital gas around how Geoff asked him to write the book (with Geoff's input) - but it sounds like Geoff was still in the process of recording his memoirs to pass on to Nick when he became ill and Nick therefore didn't get to start writing the book. Hopefully Geoff had time to record at least some of his memoirs and one day they get to see the light of day as it would make a fascinating read and would be a good tribute to everything that he and his father did for the club.

I've actually noticed the younger fans who can't remember/weren't born during the Twerton days are much more level headed than some older fans who seem to be foaming from the mouth when we lose a few. Just one look after Saturday on the belter FB page confirmed that.

That can't be right. Nick Rippington is Steve Hamer's propaganda peddler according to our ever-reliable source from The Corridors. He can't have been writing for Geoff as well. Or is he a double agent? Bom bom baaaaaaahhhhhhhh

I was out of the fold for most of the Twerton years and only saw about a dozen matches there in total. The game that sticks out for me was one that vary rarely gets a mention, and it was a win against the 82! 2-0 up but they got it back to 2-2,a dodgy penalty for them possibly? Then from a corner Billy Ocean gives the thieving Postman an almighty shove in the back and heads in the winner for us.Still makes me laugh now.
My first ever Rovers game. I went with my younger brother who is a shithead and remember him being very watery on the bus back to Bristol. I did let him have it though!
The best one for me was the 4-0 against City in which we scored 4 beauties (remember Channing goal anyone?). Little bruv had learnt his lesson and didn't come to that one but I remember him saying a certain Andrew Cole was going to tear us a new one before the game. I love him dearly but he is a tw@t!

Each to their own I suppose. Well the thread is about the Rovers Return film as a juxtaposition of where the club was then to where it is now and to highlight how those with a vendetta against the current set-up should see how we are in a relative position of security with a roadmap for going forward. That being the case it seemed like a pretty perfect thread to make a lighthearted joke about some of the unsubstantiated allegations frequently made by certain people which are clearly designed to undermine the board. Just as they were designed to undemine Geoff Dunford in 2006 as part of the board who refused the investment of Mike Turl. Still like you say - each to their own.
