Personally think DC comes across quite arrogant during interview sometimes. The questions weren't exactly difficult yesterday. Don't blame DC at all. If you are met with the non-question 'and so it is on to West Ham in the Check-a-trade trophy', how are you meant to respond apart from 'it is indeed'! At least ask him a question of some sorts and then he might get an answer!

Alternatively, if you were trying to make conversation with someone, and someone responded bluntly with no more than 5 words, then wouldn't you think they were being a bit rude? No hard to be decent and answer questions, its DC jobs, it would be like myself receiving emails in work and responding yes or no to everything. I would get pulled up on it.

I think DC just gets fed up with the same feeble questions each week and the assumptions that are made. "You must be happy with that", type of thing. I'm pretty certain that a few weeks ago DC said something like, " can't you ask me an interesting q, like why did I play that formation". Pretty much all managerial interviews are a waste of time. Maybe radio bris should allow fans to ask the questions. I have some.... How many hrs do you spend researching the opposition? How naturally fit is Rory? How much time spent in gym? How much running? But maybe that's me!!!! I can see it now: Interviewer: How many hrs do you spend researching the opposition? DC: We have our methods, but you can't expect me to reveal that detail. Interviewer: How naturally fit is Rory? DC: Well he looks fit to me, doesn't he to you? You know I don't like questions about the fitness of individual players. Next question. Interviewer: How much time spent in gym? DC: Come on this is getting ridiculous now. This interview is over. Interviewer: How much running? DC: Keith, call security......

Surely an interview is different from a conversation. My point is that Hadwin didn't even ask him a question. I didn't think it was that rude of DC. The response about Nichols was correct in my opinion, too. The lad has only started 10 league games for us and constant reminders that he hasn't scored yet were unwelcome. Other than that, I thought he answered the questions in a good spirit, apart from obviously being completely knackered.

But, with respect, there's a big difference in the work that you do and the work that Darrell has to do. If you think he is being rude, take a look at the late, great Brian Clough's interviews. It's an emotional environment and he's obliged to sit down 5 minutes after the game has finished and give an interview. I'm not surprised he gets annoyed with banal questions. I sense Darrell's most tetchy interviews come like this. When we've won a game after one or more losses and the criticism starts piling up. As if to say "I showed you" - only it is the interviewer that gets it, rather than the fans who were criticising. Let's face it certain individuals were calling for him to be sacked last week FFS.

DC comes across arrogant, IMO because he appears to be talking to the reporter and forgets the supporters are listening, and really want to be hear a bit more than "we defend from the front", "I have a great group of players", "I was delighted for him today" and "we move on to the next project", the whole **** questions and predictable **** answers, needs to stop. Although, I guess to his credit, at least DC is saying something unlike WAQ and family. hmm Im not a fan of endless interviews pre-match/post match etc,i mean how many different words can you use just to describe a football match? My take on the interview is that hes been annoyed with some of the treatment hes received from local media recently and was deliberately curt with the interviewer.

I care not how he talks to those fools, it's how he manages the club and the players that matters. Sure, it's his job to talk to them and therefore communicate with the fanbase but it's his style and I'd rather he was himself than trotting out the usual clichés. Contrast his interview style with those Radio Bristol City morons with speaking to him in person or other videos at engagements and you'll see a marked difference. DC likes to give little away to the opposition, I'm sure that his attitude to his interviewers reflect how he feels about their purpose.

Obvious again today that DC has a 'problem' with Ed Hadwin. Hadwin always sounds nervous as hell when talking to DC. At the end of today's post match DC turned on Hadwin and feigned surprise at no questions about signings. He was sure there would have been if we'd lost. I know DC can be abrupt and almost aggressive with interviewers, but he clearly has no time for Ed Hadwin.

Ed would have been knocked if he did ask the question.. What DC said didn't fill me with confidence, as much of an unbelievable today's win Was, we absolutely must be looking to get players in to improve the squad, the permanent players he was after.

Thought Hadwin's interview was good. DC is funny bugger though - on the one hand praises us supporters but on the other suggests that fans want changes etc

I'm not surprised he comes across as arrogant, he probably gets fed up with the same questions week in week out. As someone else said, how about asking about formations and how player's have played in certain positions. Trouble with the media they will pander to the dark side due to the fact they are probably told to as that's where the money is and for fear of not upsetting pantsdown, also just remember there old boy networks. I stopped buying the BEP a long time ago, don't read it online, I don't even bother watching our local news as that's crap too.

When Ed Hadwin is comentating I switch off, the bloke is irritating, Fair play to D.C! I wish they would also have someone else alongside the commentator other than Keith Brookman as he will never make any constructive criticism, we could be five nil down and he would still say we have played ok.

I don’t like him but you need a good cop bad cop to get a decent interview and the end result is generally just that tbf. The press aren’t supposed to be likeable really are they!

Hadwin is a knob.
All the local news outlets are now so far up Bristol Sports arse it's pointless listening anymore.
