I can't work out if this developer is lining up a bid to buy Bristol Rovers off our current owners or not. Well someone has been deliberately trying to destabilise the AQs recently. Are they linked? I don't think the AQ's pay much attention to anyone trying to do that.

What I'm reading is ex director, mate of a mate, conversation in a pub, backed up by someone else in a pub (who probably did nothing more than overhear the original conversation). Doesn't make me think this is anything more than gossip and speculation. That's a fair assumption Scooby and as I stated earlier, I'm just seeing if anyone else had heard similar. The developer mentioned earlier in the thread is spot on and it was suggested that his company was looking to buy the mem for housing as well as as land owned by UWE hence the reason he was talking to them regarding Accomodation and the Stadium. No mention of consortium or funding so could be nonsense. May be worth adding that the "source" has recently done some work for the club and has no agenda.

Someone? There's plenty on here that are trying to add to that destabilisation, many that should know better. I suspect there are a few 'red agents' stirring the pot ....and I don't mean Russians

Give it a couple more pages and it will become fact due to all the people who have read it on, guess what, Gaschat

I’m in the corridors of power with a glass but cannot hear anything! Put it against the wall with your ear next to it. Works well for me on next doors bedroom wall. Just being neighbourly and making sure everything is ok with them. That’s all.....honest.

Go forbid this is true. Just think about it. A housing developer wants to buy the clubs asset with the intention if selling it (the ground) for housing. He then 'promises' (honest) to reinvest that money in the UWE, a ground we won't own. His massive experience in running a football club would then leap into action, and he would spend a small fortune in sustaining the club (because WAQ says the U0wE didn't offer enough to BRFC). Yep, sounds good to me.. oh wait, it sounds like we'll be homeless again.

What is the developer looking to takeover? Not claiming to be ITK or have access to the corridors of power 😊 I was told this info in a pub after a few beers but is was backed up by someone else who has a lot more contacts than I do. The developer mentioned is well known to the club and is a specialist housing developer! Don't shoot the messenger, I was just curious as to wether anyone else had any similar info as I can't be bothered to read through the numerous threads !
It pains me to say it but the standard of rumour-mongering on this forum is in sharp decline. Hopefully this is just a blip and is not terminal.

Hmmmm....house builder buy Rovers. Develops Mem site in housing ,whilst signing any old deal to get Rovers out of the Mem and to UWE. After deal done decides to sell Rovers to first person to make a reasonable offer. Leaves Rovers and new owners saddled with terrible contract with UWE.
Great...where do we sign.
