Last night Patrice Evra was sent off before the game started, BBC seemed to think this was unique. But I recall in the 1964 FA cup match against Stockport, Rovers had a player sent off in the warm up. John Brown I think it was, he was replaced by Alex Munroe. Anyone else remember it?

Was actually wondering whether if you had a member of the starting 11 sent off in the warm up would you have to start with 10?

I thought that if a player was sent off before kick off he could be replaced by one of the named substitutes therefore starting the match with 11. However you cannot then bring in another sub to replace the one used.
I'm probably totally wrong though.

I think Evra was on the bench, anyway.
