We need to put on hold all our concerns about the issues around the Checkatrade Trophy; we can't afford a successive loss against League 2 opposition on Wednesday. A win will set us up for Saturday and I'd like to see DC put out his best side with Saturday in mind. A loss on Wednesday against near neighbours will do nothing for morale and will only feed the circling sharks. Also, now we're out of both the FA and League cups this trophy (and the Gloucestershire Senior Professional Cup) is our only hope of silverware this season....apart from the play-off final! Some will disagree and say Wednesday's game is an irrelevance; but I reckon our strongest team and a win on Wednesday is much needed.

Quite agree B ! I'm sure we'll do it, but can DC and the players start picking up some points away ? Scunnie will be a very difficult one - can't see it. NOT till we can add a couple of faces in January.
Would love to be proud wrong. UTG !

Nah.....we need to get knocked out on Wednesday, hopefully on penalties. We don't want to proceed in this meaningless competition. Hopefully another very poor turnout, I certainly won't be there..... Waste of time and money.

Think you might get your wish, playing Weds and most probably travelling Fri for Scunthorpe I'm not sure DC will risk too many 1st teamers.

As much as I despise this competition, getting through to the later stages is our only chance of getting extra income now.
Bit of a "rock and a hard place" scenario.

Couldn’t give a monkeys about the chekatrade but I think we’ll pick up 6 points from our next three league games which will keep us about 4 points off the play offs.
