Want to bring some football chat back to the forum.
Without being overly negative: suggest a player and trait (skill/ or tactical) that if they improved it would make a significant difference.
Leadbitter- for me he’s a massive confidence player. I would like him to focus on doing something good in the first few minuets. Not in a negative sense. But get stuck in early, or first time he gets the ball, just attempts a Worldie pass or a shot. I feel he tries to ‘creep’ into matches, start off steady and go from there. The problem is his style isn’t steady. This approach hampers his main attributes, attacking, beating players and putting question marks in the opponents heads. His defending is better when his attacking is.
Full throttle from minute one.

He gets in great positions but really let’s him self down with the final ball in the box. Apart from that he’s a quality player.

I love danny and the op is right in that he is a confidence player and sometimes allows his head to drop. But he very exiting to watch really wants to do well and ive seen signs that his crossing is improving, noticeably v west ham the other night.

This is not defending. This is not marking up. This is not getting infront of an attacking player. This is not staying focused. This is not anticipating the opposition attacking the flight of the ball. This is 2 players marking the same man and watching his mate score a goal. This is rubbish. Please try to not make it so easy for the oppo. As defenders we have the easy job to get something on the ball to keep it out, that’s a big target in comparison to getting it in the net. Now go out there and do it, or you will end up in the Bristol Suburban League playing against people like me.

Partington to win more headers. He's a tall lad and should win more than he does in my opinion

Ollie Clarke to find some of his form from last season, when he is on his game he is arguably one of our best midfielders

The only thing that lets him down is his crossing. If he could improve on that i think he would make a good winger, especially with a good full back behind him he would not have to worry so much about his defensive duties. We badly need some pace in the team.

Genuinely feel sorry for Leads, totally lost his confidence, his second touch currently is generally all over the place and the ball gets away from him.

Would be good if right footed players could use their left foot and left footed players their right!

Lines to run with the ball at the opposition more often. Think he’s brilliant when he does it but only does it once a game. Maybe he’d do fewer Hollywood passes then as well.

DC to accept that not winning is not the same as losing. Draws are worth a point more, and sometimes worth playing for.

Nobody wants to talk about football! How very true ~ it's all fences and wages not being paid with posts being written and responded to by the same old clique. Most of us don't have a clue what they are on about ~ I can't be doing with all this cobblers

Great idea for a thread but as others have said few want to talk about football atm. But the first thing I would like to see is our CHs learning how to head a ball. From looking at the highlights three of those NC goals should have been avoided. Normal crosses into the box and our defenders just looked at the ball and waited for the attackers to score. So defenders defending would be my wish and that goes for all of them. However, with all the crap from other threads about rumours and everything else what would be a good thing to see would be some kind of statement from Wael. He should have come out with something in August when the UWE went belly up and he should have done something every week since. He’s been reacting to some stuff but has appeared quite defensive rather than taking charge of the situation. Had he done that some of these rumours might have been avoided and some of us might not have had to read some of this stuff. I don’t really expect him to do it now but I live in hope! If he could come out and give some sense of a vision for our club, some kind of plan that could give the fans some answers it would be helpful. Have always supported Wael and will continue to do so but I haven’t seen much leadership over the past few months. Don’t know if it will happen now. UTG!
