Can we rename this tread The New (Old) Beginning please Can anybody answer me a simple question please ? Why would anybody want to invest £m's in Bristol Rovers with little or no hope of ever getting their Money back ? Excellent question Henbury, one some of us have been asking about the Al Qs for a long time. Don't hold your breath for an answer as there never has been one. PS posters also get very defensive when you ask that question 😉

So let's assume Nick Higgs will play Marty McFly. Who will play Doc Brown? Will Wael get a part? Surely DC as Marty. Holtby as Biff. Nick Day/Lance as the announcer at the Enchantment Under The Sea dance - in the Dri Build lounge. Any more, guys??

As long as they can deliver a new stadium and develop the club, i see no problem, if they come in and plan to do nothing then i would say no thanks. Trying to figure out how they developed the Club previously? Can anyone offer up their achievements?

Bring back the IT Director as well! As long as the idiot who hadn't prepared for relegation doesn't come back then I don't care who runs our club

I literally know nothing about any of this but given the stress Higgs looked to be under in the latter stages of his tenure I'd be amazed if he ever wanted to go anywhere near a boardroom again.

Why would anybody want to invest £m's in Bristol Rovers with little or no hope of ever getting their Money back ? If the land for the UWE is effectively free then a lot of the cost of the build of a modest stadium can be offset by self development of the Mem site, FL grants, and stand/stadium sponsorship. It's a gamble but the potential revenues are there in TV and prize money from getting into the Championship. I'm not sure that building the ground is a massive financial problem. It's sustaining the actual football side of the business that's the issue. Even if there's any truth to the rumours how is the land free? I sense either the ex BoD's or the OP are living in cloud cuckoo land if they think they can finance this themselves.

The concept of an organised campaign of name dropping and drip feeding through social media all sounds a bit far fetched to me....

I'd rather pickle my eyes than have Higgs and any of the other useless wasters anywhere near the club.

Trying to figure out how they developed the Club previously? Can anyone offer up their achievements? Im struggling to note anything other than promotions to league 1 06/07 and back into football league 14/15. and arguably into league 1 the season after. It would be a shame from anyone to come in reduce the staff we have long needed, and have no plan to progress the club. We must build a new stadium first and permanent training ground would be nice too. I just couldn't accept another takeover with it being tolerated that we dont move forward off the pitch.

Trying to figure out how they developed the Club previously? Can anyone offer up their achievements? Darrell Clarke I'd have been amazed if he would have turned down Leeds if Higgs and co were still running the show. They got lucky with DC, let's be honest. Disastrous regressive regime that simply didn't have the capabilities to progress the club on or off the field. The way they watched on as the club tumbled into non-league football should never be forgotten.
