DC is a great manager however his main weakness is player recruitment which has been pretty shocking since we returned tonthe league (Bodin apart) we need to give him some support in this area after all Holloway had Penrice (now a nationally respected scout) and Everson who found all the decent strikers of that era Assuming he was only given a bottom 6 budget is it really shocking? The only permanent signings under performing is Nichols and Burn, the rest are probably playing at, or above, you'd expect I.e. Smith and Salcombe look like mid table goalies, Boardband overachieving etc. Have you been on the Sherry Topper?

"I don't mind saying openly that the only reason I'm here now is for the supporters, I'm staying around and while I've got the majority of Rovers fans support I'll stay around" And some jerks what this beautiful man out. He forgot to say about the money lol If he walked out tomorrow he could walk in to a job earning more money. Championship clubs are out there who would sack their manager for D.C. if he was available.

All About opinions this forum isn’t it. I believe that there would be plenty of league 1 and championship clubs interested in interviewing a manager who’s won four promotions before his 40th birthday yes. Most of them would also be able to offer him a bigger wage and playing budget than we do.

Genuinely interested to know which Championship clubs would sack their manager to bring in a manager struggling in League One with no experience playing\managing\coaching at that level? I'm a big DC fan but he still has a huge amount to prove before he would get touted for a Championship/top half L1 job. Most likely he would end up at a club like Plymouth or top half L2 club if he was to leave now.

I rate DC and hope he stays but 1 Pay. Think he has the longest and highest paid contract ever for a Rovers manager. 2 Players pay. No idea but at the start of the season Hamer stated that DC accepted that he had a top 6 playing budget. DC has since expressed the new TV contract monies changed player pay expectations at the start of the season thus the recent comment about the bottom 6 pay. 3 Think the current squad in number terms is as big as I can ever remember with first team playing time. 4 Budget and players pay are 2 different things. The bigger the squad the more the same budget money is spread between players hence the lower pay. Thus smaller squad could mean higher pay and better quality players. 5 Budget set by the owners squad picked by the manager. 6 DC has a tactic of player short term contracts and low pay with bonus payments based on results. Result thus far 2 promotions whilst at Rovers and 2 elsewhere. It's worked for him until now. Is it still working now?. Taylor off over the water and Bodin in the balance. As DC has recently openly admitted does he need to self analyse and a change of tactics? Not only the playing style of going for broke but also off field setup like squad size and pay to move things on? A few statements and a few questions to dwell on then! UTG

Come January and probably even before that there will be plenty of clubs sacking their managers and D.C.s name will come up plenty if he’s not attached. I hope he doesn’t leave but I reckon he won’t have a problem finding a job with more money and bigger budget if he does.

I can't see any Championship club going for DC given our current position.
The good ship Leeds United has sailed off into the distance.
One of the bigger L1 clubs is the best he could hope for, imo, and that depends on his customary storming finish to get us up to about 10th.

I have seen very little evidence he is ready for the championship, his team and recruitment have certainly proved that.
He also needs to remember with all this talking to the press just exactly who pays him and that is not the fans!
He has done well for us but we should not forget that was in the lower leagues.

Or sack their manager to get him? Leeds wanted him and they’re a massive club and it was said Norwich we’re interested last season too but he openly said he wanted to stay at Rovers at the time. Ok we’re on a bad run currently but a bad run doesn’t make a bad manager or do you think that if for example we won our next two games and moved back up to mid table then suddenly big clubs like Norwich and Leeds would be interested again but not if we didn’t ? I think they’d look at the bigger picture unlike some on here who are talking about promotion after a good run or heading back to the conference after a bad run. We’ll see but I think DC will go further than league 1 in management.

He ain't ready yet still learning the trade he needs too manage in leagues one and two for a few seasons yet, managing players on 50k a week and more would be a he'll of a challenge, the players he's managing now are what other clubs don't want.
He's got potential but he's young enough for a few seasons in the lower divisions too become a good manager in the championship one day.

UTG Not sure the squad is bigger when you consider how many 1st teamers left last summer, 2 X goalies, Gosling, Monty, Easter, McChyrstal and Mansel. Even if it is I doubt the newcomers are earning more than Milders and co? When SH gave that interview he then promptly signed the two goalies, Sercs and Nichols and convinced DC to sign his 5 years contract (we also bought our s/t&s) was funding then cut and we started shopping at Poundland?
