Hope you are right about play off charge. It’s very close in the league from Gillingham in 10th down to Northampton in 20th, 7 points! So close one win or one loss will make a big difference. I’ve said it before and it’s an old, old cliche but we should do what we did 3 years and 2 years ago, we take one game at a time. Win it and move on and try not to think it’s the end of the world if we lose or we’re potential champions if we win. I’m sure DC will keep his feet on the ground and with his experience of being in this position several times, is the best person to have in charge. UTG!

Hey Rich, What do you make of this - hope it doesn't cause your bus to stutter and splutter but couldn't resist : We're pretty much 2/3 of the season in so the table is sorting itself out I'm sure you agree. Our record against the current top 10 is W 3 D 0 L 9 GF 11 GA 28. So I wonder those who say we should only strengthen our midfield and attack might want to change their mind !? We have lost ALL 8 games away against this lot, so Rich thankfully only Rotherham and P'boro to come away. Think this record is pretty similar to last season when it comes to playing the top sides ?? Hopefully by the start of next season we can have a settled and stronger keeper/back 4 then we might realistically have a sustained attempt at playoffs/promotion. UTG ! Good analysis. Certainly worth reading. I don’t doubt that if we gain promotion from this position it will be ground breaking. The next few games will help us answer any doubts. Let’s see. It is a good analysis but in it there is something to hold on to. Yes, we have a poor away record against the top teams, BUT, we have played all bar Rotherham and Peterborough of the top 10 teams away, so does it have much relevance to the rest of our season? We have some tough looking home games coming up but we have a very good home record over a long period of time, and good wins against Pompey and Bradford should give us extra confidence that we can beat the better sides at home. We never know when we're beaten. 4 of our last 5 wins have come after going a goal down. The Shrewsbury game will be informative but just say we can turn them over, I think a lot of people will start believing we have a squeak. It's an outside chance, and my head says we'll end up mid-table but there is many a sheepish fan who has written off our chances over the past few years. This squad and manager specialises in proving doubters wrong. Great time to be a Gashead!

We have strengthened the squad.
The safe characters on here will say that the playoffs are not possible this year. If you like certainty then it’s easier to say we won’t get to play offs. I’m afraid I don’t think like that. It’s not in my nature.
It will be a great benchmark when we get a good result against Shrewsbury. It’s a lovely town however, if we mean business we need to think we can win at home against Shrewsbury.
I think we are on a confident run. People on this bus feel the positive vibes. So here goes passengers....
It’s a home game.
Security Goal: Draw - it’s what some on here would be happy with Realistic Goal: Win - by one clear goal. Stretching Goal: Win - by two clear goals. Ground-breaking Goal: Win - by three clear goals.
No one thinks we will win 4-1 or 3-0. If we do then our ground breaking finish will be on and the bus will be packed. Am I dreaming? Maybe. Some dreams come true. Tomorrow will show everyone our intent.
I’ll expect a win. How good the win is will tell us all about what to expect over next three months.
Strap yourself in and enjoy...

But how far do you think we can go and what can we achieve if we don't have a proper stadium and training facilities for a number of years?

To be successful I agree we will certainly need a bigger stadium (one that is income generating beyond football) and training facilities (encouraging the best to stay here). Without I certainly think we can get to championship. The key for me is how we spend our money and how efficiently we can run a business. With present income and amenities I think mid table championship would be ground breaking especially if we stayed there. We got there many years ago and hung around but then we did have Herry in his prime. Let’s get promoted and worry about the future later.

There you go Rich - we're not good enough against the top sides - lack of quality today was clear to see. Still a lot of hard work if we are to challenge for top 6 next season.

Didn’t hit the security Goal today. Your analysis has been proven today. More games to come to confirm. I doubt the team will be throwing in towel quite yet. Me neither.

(f**k me I sound like DC now!) I thought it was the last 20 where we lost it - we fell away, couldn't keep the ball whilst their subs got in the groove better and they got a bit stronger.

Defeatist bullsh1t on here. Your mistakes do not make you a mistake. One loss does not make us losers.

What a great result at Oxford. Happy days...
I think the team have more confidence in the team around them as each game goes by.
There is no doubt now that we can go on and create an exciting finish to the season. We have come to expect it.
I certainly think team believe they can do it again? Do fans believe we can make play offs?
Some doubters might just jump on the bus, just for the ride.

The realist in me will always make me feel comfortable enough with an upper midtable finish and think we won't last if we do get promoted to the Championship - worse, makes me afraid of being a victim of "twice the fall".
But I must be crazy, because I will allllllways cheer my hardest against the realist in me.
Come on, ground-breaking goal!!!!

And only 6 points off the relegation places so have a bit of perspective. That’s true but in this league a run like we are on will put us in a good place by end of March. People who know me will know I don’t do looking down only up. We have had our poor run of results and now we are back. Time to leave our fears of relegation behind and aim higher. Our manager will play down this result but we all know that we expect better than where we are now. I’ve a sneaky feeling that manager also think his team could quietly do better. Will he put pressure on them by saying it publically. Probably not yet but sometime soon he will. There is a whole bunch of clubs above us that we can go ahead of if the next few weeks go our way. Can we dream of being 3-4 points behind the play off positions by start of April? If we are then the bus will be packed! Looks like we are ahead of this target. I might be dreaming but I’m not the only one.

It's nice to be looking up, but we have an incredibly tough run in, I'd be happy if we stayed around the top ten.

So here we are. It's now March we are still in contention. Our play-off push is not over. We have a game in hand over Plymouth. With three victories back to back in the next few weeks, the last month will be interesting. We have the experience and we know that with this team and our manager anything is possible. As I look around the bus I can see I am not the only one.
