It has been done to death and we don’t really need another thread on it tbh.
Those who want to go and support the team will do so. Those who want to boycott will also do so. The FA will continue to do what it wants regardless of the previous 2.
Simple as that really.

I went this year but wont go next year, not because of the competition, but the poor standard of football played by our team.

When we get 20 point deduction for going into administration, will we still be able to enter it ?

Good article. While dickheads like Hoddle,on national tv,are allowed to tout the 'b teams European model' as the only way forward, and the relative Premier league peanut payments increase each year then the probability of the 'whole game plot' being implicated will grow,I have no doubt about that.Kill the checkatrade cup indeed before it kills lower league football is a great mantra.Personally I think in 5-10 years it will be upon us.

Only went to the two home games and the standard of play by our near first team was diabolical. No PPP (Pride, passion,Power) on show at all

The Swindon game was shocking. I reckon that was the game that sealed Burns fate as a Rovers player. Out of a very poor collective performance his defending was diabolical. He was slow to turn, poor in the air and constantly stood off his man. He was so slow I think he had to leave a few yards so he could react. The result was he got done every time by league 2 attackers and left the fest of our defenders exposed and scurrying to cover his mistakes.
I don't think he will be back.

Apart from that he had a good game then.......

Sorry but this can never be “done to death”, until B teams are excluded, or the only death will be the future of lower league football.

www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42246392Shameful rules, makes me so angry. Definitely time to kill this competition dead. These Premier League clubs can no longer use lower league clubs as their own personal training ground opponents. The EFL must have no shame. And shame on the clubs that voted in favour for a cheap buck.

All credit to the bbc football website, you cant click on the games to get a report or information about attendances etc and many of their reports have been about record low crowds at games.

I'd say no credit to the BBC as they're refusing to publish the facts - abysmal attendances and weakened line-ups!

Ultimately EFL clubs will vote for the option that provides more money, sad but true I feel. I would like Harvey and the EFL explain to me how Leicester fielding a team costing £45m and West Ham fielding a team with several overseas players one of whom cost £4.5m is going to help England develop young players, which was one of the reasons for these teams entering the competition. I suspect that I may have to wait a long time before i get the answer. UTG!

Actually I’ve found it hard to get much information on the BBC site about this competition. Looks like they have more or less ignored it like the fans imo. Where clubs disclose the attendances BBC are reporting them I think. Where the clubs don’t the BBC can’t. Leicester, weakened line up! Are you sure? 😀 UTG!

Fully agree with your comments, I've e-mailed my concerns to them, I'm sure if enough people sent them a e-mail they may get the idea enquiries@efl.com

God grant us the serenity to accept the things we cannot change, the courage to change the things we can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Sadly the mid part was severely lacking amoungst many, who wrongly believed the former.
