There can be no doubt that we have been sold short by the Company responsible for installing our pitch during the summer.
If DC needs any excuses he has a ready-made one re the playing surface.

Bloke next to me in the Blackthorn said that he came up to buy tickets on Friday and saw the players training on it. If true, it might explain the state of the pitch. And I'm still convinced the pitch had summat do with Bodin getting the ball caught under his feet when he was about to shoot in that fast breakaway towards the end of the game.

The worst signing of the summer IMO.
The pitch is worse now than it was at the end of last season...

Was cutting up very badly early on in the game on the West enclosure side. Large divots appearing after the slightest challenge. Certainly looks like a drainage problem.

Do we have a warranty with the pitch? Always hoped we were ok there but like everything else we are not too good compared to others.

The pitch doesn’t look great but I have seen us play on worse at the Mem. It needs another good sorting out at the end of the season.
The pitch is the same for both teams playing on it on that given day. It doesn’t help us play attractive football but we can still grind out results on it.

Double carpet. Oh that’s the improvement in the bar. Sorry. I already exhausted my betting knowledge with that joke. I don't know anything about gambling other than that it's only bookies that win

Over the last few seasons the pitch's we've had have been the best the Mem has ever seen. Was bizarre to see it not looking up to the recent standard on the weekend. Even from watching online you could see that it wasn't in great shape. I wonder how it could have been worse after it has been so good the last few?

Rotherham United boss Paul Warne criticises Memorial Stadium pitch after defeat to Bristol Rovers
"We said to them at half time, it's a game for ugly defending, just clear everything and get the ball forward and make them defend," said Warne.
"The pitch is a big pitch, and it's soft. There are divots everywhere and when we came out for the second half I noticed that my goalkeepers area area hadn't been 'divoted' but the whole pitch had been.
"We told the lads at half time not to play backward passes because it was bobbling and all that. I think Joe Mattock put a cross in during the first half which he virtually put in with his knee because it bobbled up so high."
"It was the same for both teams, so I'm not making that as an excuse. But it made it a different game to the one we possibly expected."
