I don't know, as a guess I would say that they need additional income streams of match day and non match day revenue in order to provide a return on the investment and also give something to the club, such as additional conference facilities. This is why I think the UWE fell through, they wanted to keep a higher share of the profit which meant the return Dwane Sports were after did not add up If that was the case why did it take so long after the feasibility study was received to decide it wasn't viable? Remember, before it was called off, and after the feasibility study had been seen, the UWE were invited to Jordan to conclude the deal. Seems strange to do that if the project was no longer a goer. When pressed for a reason why it was called off, SH stated that UWE had failed to meet Rovers deadline for completion of the deal. Well, it must have been pretty close to fruition to say that. The vice chancellor the following day on radio Bristol said he was shocked as he had been waiting for heads of terms from us. The truth is, we don't yet know the truth. There was also comment about the UWE revisiting points already agreed. Not having any contact with the owners or chairman, I am only able to base my opinion on what I read or hear in the press and places like here. I'm as disappointed as you and many others are about the UWE falling through and would love it to be resurrected, I've seen plenty of stadium projects die.

It's interest on debt they owe themselves that they're not even taking. According to Knowall they are. And he doesn’t blame them after ‘investing’ £12 million to ‘save’ Rovers. CORRECTION I did not say that they are taking anything - I said 'IF you put up £12million to save a football Club who would blame you?' Completely different - do not post false statements

Fact is, if we were 3rd in the league now most of this crap wouldn't happen. Oh, before someone chips in saying if funds were available we would be , have a look at the state of Bury. The owners are attempting to make us somehow sustainable. Debts increased due in part to attempting to drag us into something like a reasonable state. They won't be throwing money at us, but I've got more confidence they'll keep us afloat than the last mob.
Some on here basically chanting for Wael to get his cheque book out, then cry when the debt rises.

Fact is, if we were 3rd in the league now most of this crap wouldn't happen... I was going to write something similar. I think expectations have risen so much, coupled with higher crowds etc. First proper run of defeats we've ever had under DC. Quite a shock for many. And sadly that lot over the road near the top of the Championship, in what is basically a new stadium, and having turned themselves around from near relegation last season... well, that and Snakegate just f'ing rubs it in more and makes our fans more depressed / jealous / impatient.

He also stated that the manager has a budget for refreshing the squad in January He also said that looking at other sites for a stadium has not been ruled out I Can also confirm i did not see anybody in the "Corridors of Power" He also said thanks to the sponsor of the meal as well... I wonder who that was Read into that what you want I find it hard to tell jokes / injokes / rhetorical questions etc on the internet. Genuine question... Is this a genuine question that you want an answer to?

i must admit I really have lost my patience with it all now. The thing that sticks in my throat the most is that for once , I actually believed that we would finally have training facilities and a stadium to be proud of and that we would start operating like all other professional football clubs, I really think the feel good factor is slipping away from the club. We seemed to be a club moving in the right direction but it has stalled and I do worry that we will start to stagnate again. I will always support the gas and get behind the boys but it feels like it's one step forward and two back! couldn’t like this and agree much more! 👍🏻💙⚽️💙

Nonsense, they bought the club indicated we were getting. New stadium and training ground and ended up with millions of quid more debt and a new tent. They havent delivered anything other then a bigger overdraft and its damn dissapointing.

And they also got damn lucky that DC delivered two promotions for minimal outlay in the period around the takeover as well. Without that the heat would have been on them a whole lot earlier.

You have to be realistic. What did SL inherit at BCFC ? Bigger crowds, an all seater stadium ,a better placed team .
The Al Qadis did not inherit this.
How long has SL been at ashton gate ?
If you remember they had to get a training and academy camp set up. Getting the right backroom staff at the club etc. They also tinkered with minor improvements at the stadium for years.
Eventually they put forward plans for a new stadium...that failed. Their second choice...the backup was to partially rebuild ashton gate .
The Al Qadis are basically following this same pathway...but are expected to do it quicker for some reason and from a worse stadium, smaller crowds and lower placed team.
Guess what the impatience of fans is already seeing them turn against the best benefactors the club have had , they must be watering themselves laughing in south Bristol.
I'd imagine the OTIB will be watering themselves at your own comments later today!! Either you're taking the water yourself or are blind to the true state of affairs at the club, as apart from a couple of new tents we're in virtually the same position as when the ALQ's bought the club. Others have made very valid comments in reply already but I could just add the club now own ground to build a training camp on. In the least they could still use the site as it is for basic running around it just needs one decent pitch and a container or two for changing in. It was mentioned on radio 5 in the week that Burnley player as a prem team were changing at the stadium then driving to a field to train on and then drive back in muddy gear to get showered and changed. This has now been rectified...but just goes to show teams can get by on basics.

When did DSJ gift that to BRFC1883, I must have missed that announcement? Truth is even if DSJ ever get around to building it they'll probably charge the club far more than we're paying already. I still don't get why it'll take another 18+ months to lay the pitches when we relaid the Mem pitch over the summer.

Ive thought about contributing to this a few times but it feels a bit like Groundhog Day on here.
Gasincider stirs up negative feelings about the board and everyone goes to battle.
My anger- is that none of these comments are surprising...
It’s just not news.
Billy Bodin will get a better offer in the championship? Yes, of course! We are not the only league one team that will struggle to keep championship clubs off our better players
The owners are finding it expensive? Yes, of course... they thought they’d of cracked on with a ground already, and haven’t. Our current situation is costly. They know this, we know this.
There is no issue as to whether Gasincider is telling that truth, or not. There is no issue over context. The issue is: there is no news. It simply should not be interesting.
