Has a player ever deserved a goal so much as he did last night?
Possibly been our best player or at least one of all season and without a goal to show for his efforts before last night. He has the potential in my opinion to be playing a lot, lot higher. Just needs to score more consistently and be a little stronger on the ball. His touch, movement and fitness is very, very good though.
Also nice to see the standing ovation he got when coming off and the clapping seemed to go on forever. Fully deserved and I could tell it meant a lot to him. Hopefully, he can go on a bit of run now.

Was absolutely made up for the bloke, he's more than deserved that. You could tell Clarke only brought him off so that he'd get that appreciation from the fans. Hope he goes on a run of goals now. Cracking player.

When was the last time all fans backed a striker that failed to score for 9 game? Totally deserves that and I too can see him hitting some form now. Works his socks off and is exactly the kind of player I want at this club. Clarke seems to have players here that will do us proud, I hope the fans can accept we won't win every game and WILL lose to some tiny clubs now - but we're playing much better and working hard - we can go somewhere this season IMO.

Cracking little player, was so happy he finally scored last night. As harleyjakerich said it would be great to see him go on a good run now, making up for lost time.

8 games 1 goal. Everybody is happy with that? 62 games 24 goals for my mate and he was abused.
Very pleased for Matty Taylor, he looks like he has the ability to do well.

Still not having it. There will be outrage and rightly so, every time we lose to a tiny team, akin to an FA cup upset. BRFC=Full time pro.

Should we expect to beat part-time teams? Absolutely. We will lose to them occasionally? Of course. This is sport. Not maths or science; we will have off days and pay the price as a result.

I get it but there is a line of acceptance which I am not prepared to cross. Of course we will lose to small teams and occasionally we may beat a bigger team. But, our ready acceptance and habit of saying "Oh well" is why we are sat in the vanarama. There should be an inquest when we lose to some of the sides we have over the past few years. If you have the best tools and the right attitude you should be able to do a decent job. We are big spenders and have attributes that the small teams can only dream of. Have we digressed...?

Maybe because his all round game was nowhere near as good as Taylor's. Also was penalty taker. Taylor is a far better footballer than Matt Harrold. P.S I'd also have Cunnington over Harrold.

Credit to our own team though. It sounded like our approach play was decent last night. Good posession, plenty of crosses coming in, especially from the left. That is what we have missed.

We are big spenders and have attributes that the small teams can only dream of. Have we digressed...? I think that's the key thing though - attitude. If we don't turn up and don't give 100% against part-time teams and - as a result - are beaten, then quite rightly there should be anger and questions asked. Even if we give 100% though, we have to accept that now and again we will lose games and that some of those games will be to very small, possibly part-time clubs. What I demand is 100% - if we don't get that, I will be angry. But if we give 100% and lose - even if it is to part-time opposition - I will just have to accept that as a reality of sport.

Yet one is 2 divisions higher. i would have cunnington over harrold even if harrold was playing for arsenal! Plenty of posters would mate. The facts are that one is in Lg1 while the other is here with us in the vanarama earning considerately less money yet is a better player. Completely regardless of any other aspect of course. Hopefully Cunnington does well and gets himself up to lg1 one day like Harrold.

There's things I could say that might change your opinion of him I'm sure.

Watching the likes of Mansell and Sinclair after the game walking by the Blackthorn End, you can tell we have players with a much better attitude than previous regimes...

He was a personal favourite of mine, he's given me his shirt at the end of the last two seasons, one signed by the whole team and one just by him (probably because when he did the second our squad had all been told to f**k off). I love him, we still chat from time to time on twitter as he follows me on it, he's a top bloke.

Taylor has been exceptional all season and hopefully goals will kick on now he's broken that duck
My only criticism is he goes to ground to easy, and ref's are not giving him free kicks as its a bit theatrical at times. Their no10 showed how to take a foul (stood up and showed ref the phyiscality of the challenge before being forced over) and win the free kick every time.
Refs should be able to tell when a blokes been fouled however they fall, but its obvious from the refs so far this season, they assume someone going down theatrically isnt fouled. Hopefully someone at the club has spotted that one failing and he'll stay on his feet a little more.
We all said last night if last season we'd had a bloke up front who works so hard and pulls defenders out of position, makes space so well as Taylor did we wouldnt be playing Nuneaton this season

Matt taylor is the very sort of player we should have been bringing in last season and we would have stayed up. Never mind better late than never and well done To Clarke for signing him.

Hands up.Had my doubts but reckon he'll score a few now. When I think of the non scoring strikers wev'e had like O' Riordon and Beardsley, Taylor is a delight.I was wrong.
