Whilst the pitch in recent seasons had been the best for years it had to be relaid as there were problems with the drains

The pitch may have looked good the past couple of seasons but if have been on it you'd know it was very bumpy. Seems they have switched bumpiness for durability. Another concern today. Floodlights, seemed to take an age today before they were turned up Blimey, haven’t they paid the electric bill either?

Its my understanding that they used the wrong kind of sand when they relaid the pitch in the summer.
This has already been posted on here.
We will get a new pitch in the summer (again) but I'm not sure if the rework will cost us money or of it will be redone for free by the cowboys who f**ked it up the first time.

MS defended the groundsmen saying they had taken on a pitch that wasn't theirs. Mind, he also defended most of the players, the Ref and the pasties.

You have to hope that privately the issues are being faced in to with all of the above that is wrong. Right to not do that in public IMHO and maybe DC has overstepped the mark of being publicly critical. I know it keeps us happy at times to hear the manager sees what we see and feels like we do but cant be helping create a nice atmosphere at the club. We can blame those above him but I actually think DC is the one who has set the tone at the club for last couple of years and if he has stopped doing that, there is a huge void that Hamer and WAQ etc will never fill

I am told Ian Holtby managed the pitch project last summer and selected the cowboy contractors. Apparently they used cheap builders sand, and started a month late resulting in poor growth. Surprised no one has been reprimanded for such a costly mistake !

Surely WAQ has access to tonnes of the stuff

Who were the contractors who did the pitch work they deserve a bit of publicity. I’m a landscaper and take it from me it’s not about what turf looks like the day it’s laid it’s about what it looks like 6 months to a year down the line. And our pitch looks sh**e.

Problem is this time of the year is the worst time to be sorting that kind of thing out. Grass doesn’t grow much in January and if we get a lot of frost the roots that haven’t taken are going to die quicker than our play off hopes.
