Thought he spouted some bollocks in his interview after the game! Seemed to think we were unlucky and totally out played them! At least he agreed the pen was a pen!!

It was pathetic. They are supposed to be professionals, both sides.. There was absolutely no quality from either side and it took a penalty to separate them. Marcus never the most articulate probably just wanted to get home like everyone else who paid to watch that sh**.

I agree, we were useless and created nothing. Predictable with no width at all. 2 defensive midfielders at home to a very poor Doncaster side

Marcus is a Gas legend; he is only doing his best in the absence of DC,the players know Marcus is not the gaffer and obviously did not play for him today. If DC goes to Forest, I cannot see the Waq & Hani show giving the job to stewy.

I think he was too slow to change things today. Was it 65 mins before he bought Lines on? It was obvious midway through the first half that we were struggling to control the game and retain possession, even keeping the same personnel but tweeting the formation would have helped. Two poor teams playing on a poor pitch. Smith faced a pen but little else whilst their keeper made three good saves. Crap as we were I don't think we deserved to lose.

Unfortunately Marcus Stewart hasn’t got the brains to be a good manager or spokesman, I predicted he would blame the rub of the green or brown with our pitch on the result! Everyone could see their number 16 in centre midfield had the run of the midfield due us playing too deep and our formation not working, He should have changed it to 4-4-2 way before? If we played anyone half decent with a more intelligent centre mid than theirs today they would have torn us apart Shameful display in every department today.... We’re in big trouble and I can see players asking to leave the way it’s going

The kit man was on the phone the whole game and kept passing messages to MS. DC was probably calling the shots?

He was right in that whoever got the first goal would likely win the game.
Neither keeper has a real save to make and it was a game played just in front of each other defenses with no quality or final ball. Apart from our free kick from Brown that led to the disallowed goal and a Rory Gaffney drive there was little else to talk about. Well taken pen for them, but they offered little else and neither did we.
If it was his decision to take off Gaffney and put on Nichols it was a hurrendous one. That boy did nothing. I don’t even remember him touching the ball. What ever chance we had of getting back into the game was lost with that substitution.
I really don’t see the harm in putting BB on the right wing and giving Bola or even Ellis a run on the left for now. Just to have a 442 option and to give us some width because 433 just doesn’t work although we looked better at 352 with Lines in the middle.

Bit harsh on MS, all this. He was thrown in at the deep end with little warning. We haven't exactly been setting the form tables alight recently.

Football fans are never going to be short of an opinion. You're right, it is harsh on Marcus. He isn't very good in front of the camera at this stage of his coaching career and he is obviously not a natural speaker. Doesn't stop him from being very capable of doing his job though, and he deserves a lot of praise for what he's done for us over the last few years. If we come out the other side of this slump, like I fully expect us to, he and DC will be far better coaches/managers for the experience.

Doncaster are the type of team Rovers generally do well against, sideways and nothing up front. But that is with a motivated mobile Bodin which he was not today. I felt sorry for Ellis and Gaffers with poor long balls lumped up. And now the subs, Lines comes on, Partington goes to RB and Leadbitter moves into a parking space on the right wing, it puts Rovers down to 10 (in)effective players. Gaffers comes off and is replaced by, um, Nichols it said, can't confirm that. Telford did see a bit of action but it was all to late. MS sounded a loser before and after the game, get well soon DC

Worked fine at home against Southend.

Would this have been possible?

Easy option if/when DC leaves: Hargreaves and Stewart move on up. Evolution!!! I hope this doesn't happen automatically. Perhaps they will be the best people for the job, but I hope a real recruitment process is followed first of all.
With the match drifting away from us and so many poor performances I'm surprised MS didn't try to change things by making substitutions earlier.
