Its been a tough season on and off the field. The manager wanted a £4m playing budget and was turned down flat, its about £2.5m although shrewsbury towns budget is similar. 1] I made a thread in august "we could struggle" we are 2] I think dc has struggled to hide his frustration but still has the players support. 3]The new signings have struggled in the main but their all busting a gut to prove themselves to BRFC. menayese and broadbent look good prospects and sercombe is clearly a good player. 4]I could easily see lines, moore, telford, harrison and bodin going in january. 5]Centre-back,,combative centre midfield but we have no money! 6] 11th-20th Thanks for chipping in Butterfly - think you've covered all bases with that prediction - Lol ! Thats true but it seems there are about 15 teams of roughly the same ability so that bit was tough.

Ok folks it's a little bit late cos we've played 25 and not 23. But just want to hear your thoughts on BRFC ( the footballing side of things PLEASE) ! 1.How are the team doing compared to your pre-season expectations ? 2. How has DC done ? 3.How have the new signings done ? (Nichols, Sercombe, Telford, Bola, Broadbent, Smith, Slocombe and Sweeney (on his return) ) 4.Who do you think will leave or would benefit from going/ being loaned out ? 5. Which players/positions you would like to see DC get players in for ? 6. and finally, interestingly, what is your prediction for our final position come May ? 1. Not as well as I hoped to improve on last season. 2. Okay under the circumstances, as I think he missed out on two key players, that is the defensive midfielder and the left sided player. This has meant he has played formations that don't necessarily work to the strengths of the existing players. As a result we have played with 'on hand tied behind our backs'. 3. Sercombe - great, Nichols - not so well (see point 2), Sweeney had set the bar high after last season, Broadbent looking good for his experience, happy with the goalkeepers. Bola looks useful and Telford not really given enough time. 4. Not sure anyone will leave (Bodin aside, possibly) but think Moore and Broom will be added to Burn in being allowed to go if they can find another team or see out the season. 5. See point 2, plus replacements for any leaving. Talk of three new players wasn't it? Suspect 1 new player, 1 loan with a view to a permanent signing and another in the Lumley mould of being too good but getting game time. 6. Last season I used a formula at the halfway stage to predict a 66 point return, which is what happened. I predicted the reverse fixture having a better return for the home team, eg an away draw for us would be a home win, a home draw would be an away defeat and so on. Doing this again I have us getting 52 points. So far, Walsall and Oldham were correct predictions and we managed an improvement over Portsmouth (should have been a draw based on my thinking). Fingers crossed this has been skewed by the lack of draws. Hopefully the transfer window will bring in the missing links.

1, expected midtable after poor summer transfer window. 2, DC messed up summer recruitment, has been outdone tactically sometimes but he gets results based on hardwork which is fine with the group of players he has at the moment. 3, Sercombe class, Nicholls disappointing, Broadbent good for a first year pro, Telford raw deal, Bola ok, Smith ok, Slocombe ok, Sweeney generally poor. 4, Broome loan, Moore free transfer, Burn free transfer, Telford play or go back. 5, Left wing, DCM, and a tall striker. 6, 15th

.....Hopefully the transfer window will bring in the missing links. I would like to see Orrorin tugenensis on the left with maybe Ardipithecus ramidus on the right.
