Whatever we paid seems too much at present, even £50K would seem expensive, I just don't get what MS/DC saw in him, he had a full 90 mins yesterday but even when we were on top near the end he still never even looked like having a shot on goal let alone scoring. It'll be interesting to see if Telford stays (assuming he has a choice?) or tries to find another club where he'll be given some game time.

For the life of me I can't see how anyone says he will come good. Based on what exactly??

Look, he might be another Luke James, but there is a previous history of strikers taking a long time to find their feet at Rovers. His record at Exeter and Peterborough suggests that he is no mug, so there is a basis for hope.

Well, for me I would say it was based on 13 goals for posh last season, how repeatedly unlucky he was not to score earlier this season, and he actually has the skill to beat players. Not saying he will definitely will come good, but I believe he has the potential.

There's talk on twitter that it's:
Bodin to Preston, Cardiff, Charlton Gaffney to Wigan (Yes, this is actually a rumour) Lockyer to Sunderland (Chris Coleman links)

I don't like letting our best players get within 6 months of their contracts ending. Maybe we have to reassess how we are doing things. When we were in the conference, we were only offering 1 year contracts. This was very successful at the time but I fear it could now be the start of our downfall. We have the right manager so why not back his signings and give players longer contracts. We will sign a few duds but all it takes is signing that one player that hits it off and we could be raking it in. How much would Bodin be worth now if he had 2 or 3 years left on his contract for example? How much will Peterborough get for Marriott? There is so much money in football now that maybe this is the way to be going about things more. Luton got about £2.5mil for Gray. Oxford £3.5 for Roofe etc. It is a hard medium to get right with where we are at to be fair but if we carry on as we are then we are going to lose our best players for nothing and just stagnate or maybe worse if we struggle to replace those players successfully. Agree with quite a bit of that but tbf we gave him a 2 yr contract when he'd done ok for only a season (& he was on short term contracts for much of that season). The problem has been getting him to sign a new / improved contract, not the original 2 yr one. They've been trying to sort out a new contract for quite a long time apparently.

At the moment he reminds me of Darryl Duffy - over priced, lightweight & no USP. What 'sort' of a striker is he? A poacher? A target man? All rounder? Pacey? Skillful? Clever? Strong? Holds up play? Cracking shot? He's none of them BUT he's clearly got a bit of skill & is young enough to learn, so don't write him off.

Nicholls will only come to the fore if we sign the replacement we should have brought in when Lambert went, and have failed to since. Namely a big strong tall striker whom he can feed off, just like he did at Posh. Still waiting Dinsdale Been at work Mr Higgs You created a Persona that you have inside contacts. You have mentioned About ten consortiums, the chinese, the corridors of power, having any inside knowledge , not having an agenda. You basically turn up on here spout i know something you dont and then never back it up with anything and sit and watch the sh** get stirred. Its so frustrating and i fell for it enough times. Ed Wares trumpet boy thats it.

Bodin obviously is one,
I think gaffney would be one as he’s not getting the game time,
Lockyer is another...
I would sell Lockyer and keep the other two and out Nichols up for sale

Bodin and Lockyer to Sunderland in a double swoop at £2m with player exchange. Sercombe to Brentford. £600,000
oh and a cheeky £100,000 bid for Gaffers from Scotland

He got the majority of his goals and assists playing with 5ft7in Paul Taylor and 5ft 11in Shaquile Coulthirst. Gaffney is 6ft and Harrison is 5ft 11in. And which one plays down the middle?
