Just to add my own thanks to Billy, both for the memories and for the way this was done. Leaves with my best wishes.

Good luck to him, he's been absolutely outstanding for us, one of the most gifted players at Rovers for many years. I really hope he had a great career, again I really hope DC has a gem up his sleeve, because this side has no other player who can score a goal from individual brilliance 🙏

You'd just like to think if other clubs were in for him this window then we would have dragged it out. The fact that it's done and dusted so quick makes me wonder if there wasn't much more interest from elsewhere. I don't know that for certain but my guess would be that "in principle" deals with more than one club were on the back burner and all that was needed was an acceptable offer from one of them. And they were front of queue, probably quite a short one in truth, given rumoured summer discussions. If I were involved with the club I’d have a plan to do my selling early then focus on my buying. If we learnt one thing from recent experience it has to be how to play the January window

So in the last year, we probably should have got 5m+ for selling our best 2 players.
Instead, we might have got 745,000.
Good business that. These Jordanians certainly know how to do business.

If we learnt one thing from recent experience it has to be how to play the January window I know DC always says he doesn't panic on recruitment, but I think we need to. We were already left short after the summer, now we're even shorter. Good job Wigan aren't rolling into town on Saturday anymore.

Those players were also signed for a combined £0 though. So looking at it another way, out of Taylor & Bodin we got: - £700k+ profit (probably more, depending on Bodin fee) - 96 goals - Two promotions I’d say we’ve done worse business in our time, no?

To be fair MT had a release clause that *someone* leaked to them lot and Billy could have gone for nothing in the summer. The short contracts we offer have kept players hungry and have brought us success, but we do run the risk of losing players for less than they are worth.

Undisclosed because we don't want our rivals to know how much we have to spend? We'll see I suppose, thank you Billy for all the goals and good times

For what it's worth, I actually agree with the shorter contract policy - we've done these 3 year contracts in the past and it didn't worked out.
We've done worse business in the past, but we've done a lot better too.
What I don't understand is why Southend reject a 700k bid for a worse player, but we sell ours on for less - that annoys the hell out of me.

Just shows that he who can do nothing wrong lies out of his ass, only after the Pompey game DC said that we are not selling our best players yet here we are 2 days on and probably one of our top 3 players has gone who else now to follow Ells and the beard and leave us staring at relegation Nice try midland who would have thought you of all people would turn this into a chance to bash DC. He's hardly going to come out & invite teams to take our best players now is he ? Maybe after that interview Preston came back with an improved offer & BB asked to go, is that DC's fault as well ?

Ok it was a bluff and did not work but I don't think harsh accusations are fair on DC.

Price was £450,000 plus add ons for future a Wales caps, plus appearances and goals scored for PNE. Two other offers received 1 from Cardiff of £300,000 and one similar from unknown club. Neither of those offers included any add ons. Best deal for club considering BB was not going to sign a new contract.

As big a lady garden as Taylor then ? what Bodin nah , snakey himself chose the lady garden route , if he had gone to any other club then snakey would have left like Bodin head held high with good wishes for his time with us, taint what you done for us it's who you joined on leaving that either makes or breaks your rep

After taylor i don't suspect Bodin would have moved across town , I'm probably wrong but i thought a couple of championship teams were in for snakey(kinda blocked most of it out of my mind). Thing is Bodin wanted to play at championship level ,the reality was he has got there, how long would he have waited with us to achieve that, also how long has he got left as a player, tis make or break time for him, i really hope he flourishes at Preston. as an aside theres only 1 player i genuinely feel for who made the trip to the sh** and that is aitkin. must grate on a few older teds that one of our old players became one of the eight

That suggests we were desperate to get any money at all for him when, on paper at least, the absolute opposite seems true. We *should* have been of the opinion that Bodin is priceless to our chances of staying up and accepted nothing less than a million otherwise we let go for free with our blessing. Instead we at least had the chance to encourage a bidding war for 15 days or so then sell to the highest bidder leaving us half a month to get a replacement...but we sell on day for an underwhelming sum. Really does seem like DS have grabbed at the money ASAP wjth little regard for anything else. The acid test is how much we spend on replacement(s)

Has Bodin sent us a leaving message at all?
Not being needy or anything, but would be a nice touch considering we've been a stepping stone to him now earning a fortune and flirting with promotion to the prem
Though I guess we didnt ever have a decent song for him..

I haven't seen anything. Much as I like Billy a bit disappointed given he owes so much to DC and Rovers
