it was 400k+ yesterday? Who’s nicked a 100k not the bloke who’s just got sacked? Who has been sacked Head of academy. Not sure he's been sacked or that he's just reached the end of his trial period: gaschat.co.uk/thread/11393/gerard-leaves-rovers

Would be nice if BB phoned in with a big thank you to DC and Bristol Rovers for giving him the opportunity to rebuild his career ! Don’t hold your breath. Didn't even thank us when he signed for them. Even Taylor did when he signed for the scummers!

We offered him a new contract in the summer which he didn’t sign when he had a year to go. No one came in for him in the summer. So how could we have sold him and got a million for him. He has been purchased on his form since the summer. Had he not banged in 10 goals I doubt anyone would have been overly interested this window either and we would have been his best option for improved terms. I’m not the boards biggest fan but there isn’t much they could have done about this. They have made a better fist of this than they did the Taylor situation where he could have left in the summer, didn’t, gave him a new contract with a 300k buy out knowing he scores goals and will score goals, that he was a prized asset. That was insanity and stupidity in itself and we got what we deserved on that one. I thought the snake wouldn't sign a new contract unless we gave him a £300K buy out clause (he even went on a semi strike) so it was quite sane and clever really, as we at least got £300K for him rather them him walking away for free. BB's also stitched us up really but letting his own contract run down.

but Billy was out of contract. He could have signed a pre-contract agreement with anyone on the 1st January and we would have got nothing regardless of price tag Your missing my point, we should have sold him with a year left on his contract like every other clubs do, They don’t sell them at the end of their contract as your not going to get much for them, January prices are always inflated but we’ve walked away with peanuts yet again It’s basic business I would have rather sold billy for proper money and bought two players with the money you received as now we’ll left with loose change in a peak time to sign someone It's quite easy for your shopkeeper to sell his tins of peas or whatever it is, those peas don't have a mind of their own and refuse to budge. You seem to forget that BB is a human being, we could have accepted £10m bid from Islamic State FC in the Afghan Premier League in the summer but I'm fairly sure BB would have refused to leave!

Some people will find any reason to bash the club. If we'd sold him in the summer you would have been one of the first people on here saying we lacked ambition. If we let Billy go for free in the summer then it is likely we will still be in division 1. Now gambling on receiving £300k now and hopefully not getting relegated. IMO it’s got nothing to do with ambition it’s got more to do with survival. I feel for D.C. on Saturday he thought players were staying ,now it could be an exodus, let’s hope Waq and Hani have a plan B What, like the last plan b?

According to Hamer, we had 4 bids for BBB each one higher than the last - now if we turned down £500k in the summer, then I assume the deal was worth more than that. Yes he could have left in the summer for nothing & yes we probably would moan too, his goals may or may not make a difference to our survival this season , who knows. However, listening to SH interview just fills me with despair or as the OP put it, it was a shambles. When asked if DC would have the money to spend on bringing in new players, he avoided the question by saying he will sit down with DC after training & look at their options, when pushed and asked if DC would get some of the money he again was non committed. Now FFS he is the chairman of this football club, he has recently said on radio he was having a meeting in London with Hani, to discuss finances & part of that would be transfer budget for Jan. As he also said it seemed inevitable that they would lose BBB, why is he only going to sit down with DC today, surely this would have been a conversation he had with Hani, ah but wait, Hani has no interest in football, he probably said 'who the F##k is Billy Bodin?' This isn't about BBB leaving, but after listening to the crap spouted by SH again today I think it's proof that him & / or the owners have no idea what to do from day to day - I really feel for DC, if his chairman don't know how much he can spend on players how the hell can he do any meaniful planning.

Jack Vittles Verified account @jackvittles 12m12 minutes ago More Steve Hamer has confirmed that there is a sell-on clause in Bodin's #pnefc contract and that Rovers received more for Bodin than they did for Matty Taylor #utg #BristolRovers

It seems that more and more people are waking up to the fact that our club is being run into the ground. They knew Bodin was going, yet only meeting today with DC to discuss who he can sign,
It's a bloody joke, and not a very good one.

Chairman : How much money do you need to replace Billy Big Bollocks ? DC : we don't need any money because we have a good enough squad without him
Chairman : ok then we will pay the staff and fence people this week with the money i had available for you

Academy manager got rid of because he was not performing, I was told that by someone who works with Lee Mansell. Mansell would be a good choice as replacement.

Perhaps they have talked about DC's 3 lists who could replace Bodin etc, but now we have some cash, they will see what is available to spend and perhaps they can buy from the Waitrose list, not the Lidl one etc.

Chairman - Well, you know DC, things like this take time, I spent 90 mins telling him who he was & that we might be getting some money for him, as he wants to go. DC - Yeah but can I spend the money we get? Chairman - DC you have to understand, oh is that a plane circling overhead? Sorry, these things take time. DC - Yeah I know, but we only have January. Chairman - He did say there us a big player with experience, in Cheltenham, that he is going to sign up. DC - FFS chairman, did you ask him? Chairman - Sorry, I forgot, gonna have a chat with him again in March tho. DC - I'm gonna pickle my eyes!

anghymhwysedd seemed pretty certain it was 20%. I thought that name was made up. Just googled it and apparently it means disqualification in Welsh. There you are, you learn something new everyday! Don't believe everything that comes up on Google. It actually means ---- " An angry religious song about Seth. "
or one of the Welsh language words meaning "Incompetence."

Why can’t Hamer answer a simple question?
Ali Duerden asks him if the owners need to demonstrate their ambition to the fans this window (something many of us are saying) and he instead bangs on about Billy Bodin’s past.
What the f**k has that got to do with the question? Chief bluffer and bollox spouter is all Hamer is good for!
