Spoke to Wael today on social medial and he confirmed one name on a list DC have given the board of potential signings that we have made enquiries about is Corey Whitely. That will please pirate I’m sure! Never heard of him.

I'll just be happy to see him tearing up league one defences if he signs.

I don't know about pushing the boat out for him, but I certainly want him to sign. At 26-years-old he should be reaching his peak and now is the time to test himself on a stage he should've been playing at a few years ago.

I did see a Masaratti driving up towards Gloucester Road Just now with the number plate CRY 9 and wondered to myself if footballers at this level can afford those kind of cars..

The ideal surely is to get in 2-3 players BEFORE the next game. Logically this will be players to go straight into the team (but things with DC are often not logical especially when it comes to signings !) I was shocked to hear that the day after Billy Bodin left DC was meeting up with Hamer to discuss replacements as I had expected that these discussions had already taken place and some signings would be very nearly in the door. I would expect there to be 4 or 5 before the deadline closes and that based on not losing anymore! I was hoping players would already be lined up and basically through the door too. DC has spoken about the need for a left sided player and defensive midfielder since the summer, so that is months to prepare. Perhaps the Bodin deal changed things? Change from Lidl to Tesco listed players, maybe even Waitrose list. How is the Bodin deal being set up? All money upfront or half now and remainder end of season? Many factors to be considered permanent or loan players. Do the players DC identified want to come. Have deals been done but the other clubs need to settle their deals first. Common knowledge that managers repeatedly say it's not easy trading players. Dead easy for impatient fans to criticise. Rush it and get it wrong and the same fans still winge. James comes to mind

Not a rumour, but Oldham have signed another player. Celtic midfielder and Zimbabwe international Kundai Benyu signs on loan until the end of the season.
He has played in four games since signing from Ipswich in June, including two Champions League appearances.

Whitely on the bench today. He's been on the bench for the last 3 or 4 games. Not been playing well by all accounts. Hope DC passes on this one.

Last season when Whitely's name was first mentioned I spoke to an old mate who is a Daggers season-ticket holder. He gave a one-word answer when I asked if Whitely could cut in League 1 - "Nope". I spoke to him again earlier this season and his opinion hasn't changed. If we did sign him we'll see who is right.
