A few still got through though The East German border force would have had my photo on record from one of my border patrols in the late 70's early 80's No publicity thank you Now that is interesting ~ you a defector Phil? Did you have to leave due to things that you did in WW2 ? maybe one of the boys from Brazil ? No I was a cold war soldier in the old British Army on the Rhine; we used to watch them watching us through binoculars and on the odd occasion from up to 20ft away. Sullen bunch of feckers; not unlike yeovile fans really

Sh*t loads of Gas in the area south of the river these days, and much the same in former Gas heartlands

Cut out the FREE tickets given to various individuals who have:-
1 - never played for BRFC 2 - do not work for BRFC 3 - can bring along as many 'friends' as they like
I am not on about the tickets given to schools to encourage young supporters.
The club is being defrauded by these individuals.
are you talking about the football club or the supporters club? Don't know if you remember us away to Barnsley many years ago? Went in to the bar where the SC were selling tickets to SC members. So my brother and myself went up to the table and said can we have 2 please? Chap who was sat at the table said "sorry mate they've all gone. I said well according to the SC they have been on sale for 20 minutes. I don't believe they have all gone in that time. Well, he replied my mate took 100 for all of his mates. Are they all in the SC? I asked. Dunno he said, just wanted them gone. At this point I took my membership card out, tore it up and threw the bits at him. Luckily for me as we were leaving I bumped in to GD, and he asked if everything was alright, and we said no and told him what happened. Later in the week I received 2 tickets for the Directors area. Never re joined them, and never would.

In light of a recent decision by our moderators on moving non rovers related treads, can we please move this post to the supporters club section as it has nothing to do with Bristol Rovers football club Thank you

A partial solution to stewards allowing free entry is to rotate the stewards duties each match. Turnstile duties one match then pitch-side or terracing roles the next game. Allocate duties on the day, not in advance so that no steward can pre-plan meet-ups with the cheats. You need somebody who can manage mental arithmetic and handle money quickly on the cash turnstiles. Surely we don't have that many entry points that it isn't possible for a couple of club officials to see what is going on?

View AttachmentI remember the old supporters club shop at Eastville.Think it's a mosque now or something.Used to walk from Totterdown to pick up a coach for away trips there as it was too early in the day for the buses to have started.Tubby guy called Bob Andrews who was the life and soul organised it all.Cinema on the corner called Her Majestys (Later re-named Concorde I think).Blimey how old am I? If you don't know how old you are, then you're probably quite old 😂😂👍

The similarities are startling 😂

Just have to watch a certain steward letting his buddies in the Thatchers end (maybe for cash) if I can see it why can't the club I pay to watch the club I support Again if fans or the club are concerned then I suggest the following. Any decent fan should pay and IF true ( free tickets ) it is a 'slap in the face ' to hardworking fans who buy Season tickets or pay on the day . I know a student who saves weekly to purchase a S.T and another who pay's via credit x12 to support this club. 1) Any free tickets should be subject to an application process clearly stating the ' persons named' like Aviva rugby matches. 2) Any organisations / Charities could apply but with a designated named person. 3) If there is suspicion that person(s) are often gaining access in the form of a season ticket or pass . Then this should be shared with the admin office to check bank details and evidence of purchase. 4) If a steward is allowing 'free access' it should be reported . 5) free tickets should be stopped in 2018/19 and an application process on each game should be introduced. 6) Free tickets / membership / season tickets / are open to fraud and is dated full of bad practice. 7) The club should monitor and appoint ( part time) or within a person to adopt the above in 2018/19. For 2018/19 an application process should be introduced based on each fixture ( number set by club) to welcome applications to apply for free tickets. The club should support 'groups' it identifies as key to good relations and community harmony. This number should be recorded : monitored and made accountable to deter the concerns raised on this forum. FREE TICKETS TO END SUBJECT TO APPLICATION PROCESS... No disrespect but unless you know the intimate workings of our FC, and the general practices of many FC's, you have just spent a lot of time writing conjecture and teaching grannies to suck eggs.

Fair point mehewmagic !. So what would you suggest the club do to address the issues of 'free tickets ' expressed on this thread ?.
