Don't want to dampen anybody's day he looks a great player but he needs the service as well , so as long as we put that right we could be on yo a winner here, And I am not being negative or knocking anyone this is a good start Yes but he will also be part of the service won’t he, providing support for our front men. Thought he sounded very versatile and was happy to play wide on left or right, even in the middle and off the big striker. Very positive, articulate interview where he seemed to know about us and clearly wanted to be here. I can remember that Braintree match and they were good that night before Ellis got a good goal near the end. Not getting carried away but that’s as good an introductory interview as I’ve heard over the past 3/4 years. As you say, a good start. UTG!

He's played 50+ games from the right and about 15 from the left. A lot of his goals and assists have been from the right, cutting inside onto his left foot. See here at 39 seconds I don't doubt it and will no doubt play on the right at times (maybe Saturday ? ) but he wasn't D.C.'s intended replacement .He was the missing left sided player that was needed. The Bodin replacement turned the club down last night....so any guesses as to who that was ? That puts a different spin on it then. Looks an upgrade on Moore. Hopefully we are looking a bit higher up the pyramid for Bodin's replacement. Interesting also that C's idea of width appears to be players who cut inside and shoot!

HE came on as sub for someone against us at the Mem and was introduced over the tannoy as Bernard Mincer. The Barnet win in the rain. Lost his man (Balanta) when he scored our late winner. Given how slow Angelo was it was a poor sub appearance. Also played at mem for braintree, the night akinola got that wonder goal. Mensah looked a real handful. Ah i remember him now,he was very quick and outstanding that night,i think he was talked about on the forum after the game.

Bristol Rovers' first signing of the January transfer window appears to have gone down well with the majority of Rovers fans.
Mensah joins Rovers for an undisclosed fee from National League side Aldershot Town and goes straight into the Gas squad to take on Blackpool tomorow.
The 23-year-old has already had some Gasheads excited with his talk of pace and tricks on the wing, while his highlights reel certainly catches the eye.
New Bristol Rovers signing declares fans were main reason for joining the Gas
Despite appearing at the Memorial Stadium against Rovers a couple of years ago while on loan at Braintree Town, his name was still unknown to a large majority of Rovers fans.
His style of play and what he could bring to Rovers, even less well known still. So we decided to have a chat with someone who's seen Mensah play up close over the last 18 months.
Here's what GetSurrey football reporter Kaylee Seckington had to say about the new Rovers man.
'Bernard Mensah will be missed on and off the field at Aldershot Town where he was not only a key player but the instigator of much of the changing room ‘banter’.
After learning his trade at Watford, Mensah joined Aldershot in June 2016 and made an instant impact, scoring 11 goals in 44 appearances as the Hampshire team sneaked into the National League play-offs.
Bernard Mensah in action for former club Braintree against Bristol Rovers back in 2015
Mensah’s start to this season has been a disrupted one after he suffered a knee injury in training in the summer. He’s looked a bit tentative in recent weeks, and not quite up to his usual sparkling form on the pitch, which may have been, in hindsight, with one eye on a January move to the Football League.
On his day, Mensah is the star of the show and a match winner, although pigeon-holing him in a position isn’t quite so easy. He isn’t a striker nor is ‘midfielder’ quite a fitting label. He is tricky and creative and when he isn’t scoring he’ll be setting up his team-mates. He can play on the wing or an attacking role in the centre of midfield and has, at times, played with success up front for the Shots. The Shots have a small squad, so versatility has been key.
Mensah goes straight into the Rovers squad to face Blackpool on Saturday
Off the field, Mensah is a joker and a fans’ favourite at the EBB Stadium because he always has time to stop for a chat or a photo with the supporters. He is very confident for such a young player and the source of a lot of laughs off the pitch. I can’t tell you how many post-match video interviews he’s interrupted to poke fun at his team-mate who has been in front of the camera!
He is one of a trio of Aldershot’s stars of the 2016-17 campaign that has subsequently bagged himself a big move; Idris Kanu is now at Peterborough and Kundai Benyu (who was on loan at the Shots from Ipswich) has just joined Oldham Athletic on loan from Celtic.
Can see Ellis and Mensah hitting it right off! Forget the two ronnies, I think we'll have Ellis and Bernie!
Moved, didn't need a new thread GG

Where did Bernard post mate? I'd like to read that. Seems like it could be a good signing. Please for DC. Seems like that will be it for Blackpool which is a shame, but fingers crossed we can get a few more in before end of the window.
