My memory must be playing tricks on me! I thought that when he got out of prison punch-up Pipe went to forest Green. I remember he captained their second team agains us in a Glos cup tie at the Mem during our 2nd promotion season. I didn't realise he went to Newport after FGR released him at the end of ย that season. I was never that impressed when he played for us; Plenty of endeavour, but very little skill and not really a league 1 player. A nasty piece of work; I read somewhere that he got prosecuted and convicted for Domestic Violence on his partner. I wouldn't want him back. Judge Mark Horton told Pipe: "Away from the football field you clearly had a life of too much time and too much money which led to a familiar spiral of binge drinking, gambling and meaningless sexual encounters." and the rest of his money he wasted

DC in good spirits there.
Hopefully a promising sign for what the rest of this window will bring.

I just love DC.
He totally gets us as a club. He knows we're a bit rubbish, but a lot less rubbish than we were. He knows we can become much better, and wants to stay around to make it happen. He knows we lose our best players, but wants to get new gems in. He knows he can do these things, given time and support.
He looks very relaxed and confident in that clip, so I'm hoping he's been given some good news on the budget front by our owners.

Happiest and relaxed Darrell has been for a while. Surprised how often the wage cap was mentioned as a limit to recruitment NOT signing fees. This is a new and probably deliberate message. I think his sideboard got a few dents in at 8-30 last night though!

Probably realises the fans are on his side. I am glad DC come across better here than he has of late, his post match interviews have been awkward recently. Seems relaxed and confident, hopefully players feeling the same.

Pleased to hear him say he wants permanent signings and a very good point he made about sticking with players during poor spells of form.

Itโs good to see him explain a bit more about how deals get done and the wage cap etc. I think sometimes on here people think nothing goes on between matches but clearly heโs always working hard to get what he believes are right for the club. If he left we would most probably end up with another manager going through the motions but DC seems to be really invested in doing things the right way. Donโt think anyone was touting Mensa as a signing but from his interview itโs clear DC values attitude highly as well as ability. UTG

I think his sideboard got a few dents in at 8-30 last night though! Whilst D.C. does have a tendency to mess his words up at times in interviews he always has his own agenda and stuff he places out there for fans to hear. The message here was: There is a wage cap ,that goes up and down depending on the money that comes in through the turnstiles and through sponsorships/advertising.
Subliminal message there was....get your mates down the ground as every pound through the turnstile means a higher wage cap.
last seasons average of 9302 provided the amount he has to spend this season. D.C. knows if the average is less for this season then it stands to reason his funds will be less. Currently standing at 8760.
With home games coming up against Bradford ,Wigan ,Shrewsbury ,Charlton . Blackburn D.C. knows full houses (or 10,000+ crowds) could see his budget being higher next season.(in the summer) Its fair to say those games will bring decent crowds so the other games against Bury ,Gillingham and Northampton will need to be on a par with the average so far to see a real increase in the average.
EDIT: as an extra to that it should be remembered that proving the Mem is too small (capacity wise) adds an extra string to the bow on needing a better stadium (to the council and the owners)

Yep agreed, but those missing 500/1000 supporters more likely to come back if we sign one or two eye-catching signings (to replace BB) and we go on a consistent run (some games unbeaten) which hasn't happened all season. BB always got you excited and there was expectation when he ran at the opposition.
