Very, very encouraging. Wants permanenent signings which is the same as what I want. Whether we get them is another matter. Sounds a bit disappointed about the player falling through last night. I wonder who that was?

Sounding a good deal more upbeat than just before Christmas which is great. Good to hear him concentrating on the football side where he can affect things rather than all the other stuff where he can’t. Wonder who that player was who let him down last night, sounded as if it was a permanent signing. UTG!

He's right about Bodin, too. Until that Boxing Day hat-trick against Coventry there were plenty writing him off. The sub-text there is not to write off Nichols just yet, and he's right to say that, given the previous experiences of Bodin and Matty Taylor.

Yes he said he would have been permanent and an ideal replacement for Billy Bob but other clubs at the top were chasing him too so if any of the top sides sign I forward player in next day or two there is a good chance it might be him

Maybe but also to release pressure off him and the new signings.

I wonder who that was? Whoever it was he can f**k off. We don't want anyone who isn't totally committed to Bristol Rovers.

David Pipe Ah, the David Pipe who played 90 mins for league two Newport in their FA cup win over Leeds at the weekend and who will now likely be playing against Tottenham in the 4th round. WYHHB?

WYHHB? should never have got rid of him ~ bit past it now though My memory must be playing tricks on me! I thought that when he got out of prison punch-up Pipe went to forest Green. I remember he captained their second team agains us in a Glos cup tie at the Mem during our 2nd promotion season. I didn't realise he went to Newport after FGR released him at the end of that season. I was never that impressed when he played for us; Plenty of endeavour, but very little skill and not really a league 1 player. A nasty piece of work; I read somewhere that he got prosecuted and convicted for Domestic Violence on his partner. I wouldn't want him back.

DC seemingly more relaxed and upbeat than he's appeared for a while. Maybe things aren't as bad behind the scenes as some might have us believe

Could have broken one of our players legs if I remember when playing for Newport the first time against us. Not a DC player in any shape.

Judge Mark Horton told Pipe: "Away from the football field you clearly had a life of too much time and too much money which led to a familiar spiral of binge drinking, gambling and meaningless sexual encounters."
