The type of keeper that scared defenders into world class performances hence the clean sheets as he was well dodge!

Good luck to WP but in all honesty he must be one of the luckiest players around.Rode on the coat tails of BRFC success to tier 3 but a tier 5 keeper at very best, and nobody wanted him at that level this season!

Rightly or wrongly I'll remember WP for his howler at Shrewsbury away last season. Most bizarre piece of goalkeeping I've ever seen, and I was at Torquay to watch Spiess punch the ball in to his own net.
Good luck to Will though - he seems a thoroughly likeable chap.

Mildenhall punched the ball into his own net from a corner in the 2-2 draw at Dartford. Much easier to have just pushed it over the crossbar.

Should be moved to General Sport Chat as not Rovers related Will Puddy played for us in the conference and was released last summer. Surprised you weren't aware of that.

My lasting memories of Will, are how long that drive was, back from Dover, when he effectively lost us the league 👍

Puddy wasn't very good, a lot of his wonderful clean sheet record seemed to be against teams who were so defensive (or bad) they rarely got out of their own half, let alone had a shot on target. And as others have pointed out, he was error-prone. And presumably if Mildenhall hadn't got injured, he'd never have played at all. Still, he seemed like a decent bloke, and has his place in Rovers history, so good luck to him!

Can't see why his current situation has anything to do with it. I guess we can't talk about great players of the past in this section then because somerset gas doesn't like it.

Still can’t find it anywhere. Anyone have it? Has anyone got any footage from the Playoff Final where he effectively kept us in it with his great tackle / foul where he probably could've easily got sent off. All the highlights stuff on Youtube that i could find doesnt include it. I only seen it on the day as by then i was probably about 6 pints in.

I’ve seen better loan players than him, starting with Dennis Bailey.

Dennis Bailey there is a blast from the pas he was good as well but did he not miss a number of Sunday games for us because of his religion or have I him mixed up with someone else
By the way don't forget Will Puddy got us through to the penalties against Grimsby at Wembley we owe him a lot for that at least

You said we couldn't talk about former players.

The bigger problem is apparently that day the ref told a Grimsby player that he didn't send Puddy off because of the occasion... And the fact he had a grand on rovers to win ......which he would have still lost

Think you're right about the religion thing. Scored a hat trick for QPR at Old Trafford.
