Great memories of the Tote End I tried watching matches from other parts of the ground but they never matched the Tote for the atmosphere

Remember that season well, we started really badly, were in the promotion mix towards February and March, then blew up in the last few weeks in true Rovers style. Lost two games over Easter to Bournemouth which were costly, then folded, Geoff Brradford's last season, great cup run , beating Coventry away, then Norwich, then lost at Old Traffird. Look at the goals scored! Highlights? Hammered City 4-0, beat Shrewsbury 7-0, won 5-2 at Brentford, Hamilton and Jarman scored lots of goals as well as Alfie Biggs. We had a good side again after two or three grim years. Also remember losing at home to Crystal Palace 3-1, when Eastville was freezing cold, lots of the Palace players wore gloves which was unusual in those days.

Gosh memories.....😢. Remember Alfie Biggs stopping to give me and a mate a lift up Stapleton Road one day after a game. Guess it must have been around that time (ish). He had a humongous Mk10 Jag if memory serves. Probably “on loan’ from the car showroom where he worked around then. Things like that stay with you in the memory when you are young and impressionable. Thing is my memory ain’t that good anymore, and I ain’t that young anymore......😀

Shame we sold it in the first place the owners must have made a fortune selling the land and ground etc, Imagine what sort of Stadium could have been built and with all that land.

Sadly I was only born the year after the Gas left Eastville, so Twerton was my first memory of the Gas. I do however still feel sad that Rovers still aren't there. Imagine if they had ownership of that ground now, the possibilities for regeneration would be fantastic and such an ideal location.
Still, Ikea does do half decent meatballs...

Strange now after over 20years, there isn't the same old 'remember the Popular Side' reunion?
We had our dust ups. We had our good times. And bad.
And even though a few times it was tried, no one ever took the Popular Side!
For the record, I'm lucky enough to have memories of both Tote and Popular.

I think the baggies were the last mob to try to take the popular end on the day we relegated them best the teds could do was rip up some hoardings

Remember a song used to sing on the tote all those years ago. It went, l hear the sound of distant bums over there over there, and do they smell like fuxking hell , over there over there .

The Tote End was, and still is, our spiritual home. We laughed, cried, jumped for joy and sung our hearts out. It was "special" and the noise from there was very special - even on a Reserve game (yes I was sad enough to watch those matches as I supported the team and good football there was to see....)
The Memorial Ground does not have that feeling.
