Instead of doing interviews he ought to be looking at signings Next you'll be complaining that he doesn't communicate with the press

What this tells us is that DC is still trying his hardest to achieve what he said he wanted to achieve at the beginning of the window. Nothing more nothing less.
But imo that's good to know as it keeps me optimistic that we still might have a good window overall (fingers crossed!). If he doesn't achieve it then naturally of course I will be slightly disappointed but I won't hold it against DC or the club, I do believe they are trying their best.
If he had not said anything then the pitchforks would be out as we go into Saturdays game, as it is some have them out already it seems, so he is probably damned if he does give us an update and damned if he doesn't.
Cmon DC, you can do it! You are the best salesman that BRFC have right now!

2 Permanents plus 2 loans in addition to Mensah would be a successful window . Just a shame that we go another Saturday game with what we have when Doncaster is a very winnable game. if we can get through Saturday unscathed then with these signings it could make a big difference to our season. only time will tell if any of these "deep discussions" lead to signings. As I always say Actions speak louder than words and until we actually sign somebody who can actually say whether this is just words or actual discussions. Why signings should always go to the last week is beyond me if a player is keen on coming rather than treating us as a last resort. yeah like we needed them last Saturday didn’t we,it would only make a difference depending on how good they are

So, DC says Messi won't be arriving. Disappointing. No ambition.

Hope DC gets what he wants. But it’s only good news if what he’s looking to get is better than what we’ve got. I’m sure it is if DC says it is but let’s not sign players just for the sake of signing players to keep the fan base happy. UTG!

Some more overachieving going on: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/42818944Rochdale manager Keith Hill says overachieving in recent seasons has now begun to catch up with them as a group. Hill's side were promoted to League One in 2013-14 and have reached the fourth round of the FA Cup this season for the fourth time in the past five campaigns. Dale are 23rd in the table and are nine points off safety, but they have two games in hand on their rivals. "The pressure of overachieving has probably weighed heavy on the players," Hill told BBC Radio Manchester. "We overachieved to get promotion and for the last three seasons, with the work the players have gone through, I think it's catching up with them." Rochdale have scored nine goals in three rounds of the FA Cup this season and face Millwall in the fourth round on Saturday - but are without a win in their past seven League One games. Asked whether they can carry their FA Cup form into the league, Hill said: "We haven't successfully done that or circumnavigated it. Our cup success hasn't transpired in the league. "With the squad of players we've got, it's affecting performances and the players we've brought in haven't quite matched up to the players we've lost. "I think it's just that now we are plateauing out as a group of players and a football club. When you consider the amount of money that's been spent in League One now, it's very difficult for us to keep up."

Instead of doing interviews he ought to be looking at signings Quite right. Ridiculous carrying out his media obligations and keeping fans informed. Every minute of every day during January should be spent looking at transfers - no sleeping, no eating, no going home, nothing but transfer business.

Some on here don't seem to care who we sign and what their quality is - they seem to just want loads of signings on the 1st January!

I will believe it when one of our many posters on here who claim to know the ins and outs of a cat's arse at the club confirms who the 2 players are, their fee and their weekly wage. We oshould get a cat. Tim on one wing and Gerry on the other

He said after a game in late December that the phone would be glued to his hear so if it was then 1 signing so far he needs a new phone and contact list - surely he should have been negotiating transfers last year ready to complete in Jan

No-one leaving which surprised me but DC seems enthused and with the insouchiant attitude from the Board ,I for one am delighted we have him.Doesn't get every signing right,Luke James,Nicols both very weak but he signed Billy Bob,Matty T,Broadbean,Leadbitter, etc and DC will do for me.
NB.See Rollin Mayanesse has extended his contract.Good lad.
