Quite right. Ridiculous carrying out his media obligations and keeping fans informed. Every minute of every day during January should be spent looking at transfers - no sleeping, no eating, no going home, nothing but transfer business. He said after a game in late December that the phone would be glued to his hear so if it was then 1 signing so far he needs a new phone and contact list - surely he should have been negotiating transfers last year ready to complete in Jan I've seen him a number of times during January and not once has he had the phone to his ear. He should be sacked for what was a clear lie, he only has himself to blame as who would be so careless to get caught out in front of camera. It would probably be gross misconduct meaning the club could avoid having to pay him compensation. We could then get a decent manager in like Buckle or McGhee.

Here's the interview: Judged at the end of the window. "I'll be very frustrated, angry and disappointed if we don't get these 2 more in." Interesting.

Makes me wonder why you aren't employed as a scout for BRFC as you clearly know so much more about how to do transfer business. In fact why stop there, sky's the limit, I reckon you should be our manager instead of DC, or perhaps even our chairman. It's obvious that you would do such a better job than anyone else at anything else!

Maybe it is a message to the owners, BUT it is possible it would be nothing more than DC's personal frustration after a lot of work went into it, BUT as always right now to some people it can't be anything other than a dig at the owners
"We're quite far down the line with a couple of players," said Clarke.
"However I have known the carpet getting swept out from underneath you, so we'll see." We'll be hoping to tie those two up, I've been in deep talks and had meetings with them so hopefully we can agree one or two things.
"But sometimes they change"
I'm not panicking whatsoever

It is possible but I think how I took it is more likely. You're indicating people are being negative for thinking that way but I see myself as a very down the middle poster if not positive and that is how I took it. Especially after the previous hints of frustration in the past. Let's hope we sign them both and there will be nothing for people to be upset or frustrated about.

Yous better with words than me GGMI, but i think yer on th money here. Th interviews etc Dc has had over last few months have all seemed to carry a kinda cryptic message ta th owners which gets many of us thinking, is it any wonder folk are grabbin conspiracies, DC is kinda fuellin them.. FWIW i thinks he's trying ta speak on behalf of th supporters an is just sayin "C'mon board, we know yer trying yer best but lets get on with it FFS!"

No-one leaving which surprised me but DC seems enthused and with the insouchiant attitude from the Board ,I for one am delighted we have him.Doesn't get every signing right,Luke James,Nicols both very weak but he signed Billy Bob,Matty T,Broadbean,Leadbitter, etc and DC will do for me. NB.See Rollin Mayanesse has extended his contract.Good lad. spot on

Perhaps the cryptic messages, and the not so cryptic ones on here etc, have worked and Hani realises he does need to spend a bit of money this January, if so, fare play to DC for being cryptic and, fingers crossed, Hani for backing him. It could be an interesting last week of the transfer window.

2 Permanents plus 2 loans in addition to Mensah would be a successful window . Just a shame that we go another Saturday game with what we have when Doncaster is a very winnable game. if we can get through Saturday unscathed then with these signings it could make a big difference to our season. only time will tell if any of these "deep discussions" lead to signings. As I always say Actions speak louder than words and until we actually sign somebody who can actually say whether this is just words or actual discussions. Why signings should always go to the last week is beyond me if a player is keen on coming rather than treating us as a last resort. Because like most people with options of more than one future employer, potential players are going to consider these options (and any others that arise) for as long as they can before committing. Imagine signing for Rovers on Jan 10th, only for a top end League 1 club or a Championship side (who can pay more) to have been interested later in the month because their first choice target fell through. Most transfer window signings are done late in the month, generally on the deadline date. Let's just chill out a bit. And anyway, why are we judging whether it is a successful window on the number of players brought in? As DC says, it's the quality that counts. No doubt he will have had dozens of players offered him by agents, but signing lots of them wouldn't make it a successful window.

Did you just stop listening when DC said that, as towards the end of the interview he explained to the other reporter it wasn't down to just finance if the two players didn't eventually sign. He also said the people behind the scenes are passionate when it comes to supporting the club.

Too much guess work going on.
Why would Darrell be angry if the player/s do not sign? - owners - agents - players - himself - ground hog day feeling - bad luck
What choice signing are we on? - 1st -2nd - nth
Let’s review the window once it’s over and stop pretending- that because Darrell blinked 17 times he’s trying to communicate something to us, perhaps we’re signing no 17- Andy Barcham from Wimbledon.
