So folks there's 12 games to go - a quarter of a season. Still 36pts up for grabs.
Are you still positive and excited about how we are going to do in these remaining games (Glass half full ) or are you feeling a bit negative, resigned to an uneventful lower mid-table finish ? (Glass half-empty) ?
Also, do you think the new signings - Mensah, Craig, Bennett are going to have a big impact in these 12 games or are you not that excited about them ?
Cheers and UTG !

I’m always optimistic but also realistic..... we’re not good enough to get in the top 6 but I desperately hope I’m wrong

I'm resigned to the fact we'll hamble along to a mid table finish, at best finishing a position or two above last season's finish. I'm a bit MEH about the new signings, personally I'd have signed an experienced DCM instead of Craig, Bennett looks a bit light weight/short for me but Mensah could be a good signing once he gets up to speed. Assuming we play tomorrow it'll be interesting to see how Craig stands up to Grigg and co.

Why be resigned about “we’ll amble along to a mid table finish at best finishing a position or two above last season’s finish.” Surely that’s a pretty good place to be after two seasons in league 1 and three seasons after non league. I agree with most of the rest and we’re not top six, imo, so to be mid table is pretty good and better than last season. UTG!

I'm more in hope than expectation of a late play off push. If the side could suddenly click and put a run of results together there's still a chance.

Agree JB more in hope than expectation. But a mid table finish will still be a good result after the first half of the season so long as it is a mid table finish. This table is still very close. With a close season that brings in a couple of first teamers to improve the side then it would be a half full situation. Btw is a glass half full the new name for us rose-tinters? 😉 UTG!

I'm realistic and expect us to finish roughly where we currently are in the table, maybe one or two places below. As for Mensah, Craig and Bennett, I don't expect them to have any significant impact and they certainly don't make me "excited", especially considering we have recently lost a player of the quality of Bodin, a player who did excite me.

Always hopeful we can sneak a play off spot, but realistically I expect us to finish within a place or two of our current position. The new boys - Craig was brought in to shore up and give the defence help when we were looking iffy and he has done that. I expect him to continue that into next season. Bennett has given us a bit of a spark, and I'm sure he will develop even more. Mensah is for next season

I think topper you want Craig to balls up personally I think he’s a good signing for the squad, mensah and bennett not sure yet Above the relegation zone and stay up will do for me this season with the promise of top 6 budget the pitch etc it could be worse with a relegation battle. Then we dust our self’s down rebuild for next season and lay a new pitch for top quality attacking football

Plymouth look dodgy at the back? Their the form team in the table and I would suggest were the team that look dodgy at the back.

I find it a bit sad that the forum pro scouts[in their mind] have wrote off our 3 new signings as inadequate at best and others have joined in with the shoddy welcome for the new boys. This season i wasnt confident from the outset like i was with previous dc teams and will be be very happy when were safe from the drop. That said the division is incredibly tight so who knows whats going to happen.

Considering I thought we were going to be hit with 2nd year syndrome (Looks like that'll be Northampton and/or Wimbledon) I'm pleased that we've reached the end of February and already are close to having the necessary points to be secure in the division. Considering the size of the club and where we are in our building process as a side at the moment, I'm more than happy for a top half finish in League One this year at which point Clarke is going to have a tough time evolving this team so that a number of starters this season are pushed to the bench next year as we bring in stronger talent, all whilst keeping the togetherness of the squad which has at times seen us perform beyond our means.
So going off of last year's table we'd need about 15 points from our last 12 games in order to get top half which I think is definitely a manageable target.

Craig looks an excellent signing. Bennett has already shown quality and will improve as he gets games under his belt for us. Mensah was always a signing for next season rather than this and can't be properly judged until he's had a proper pre-season.
I expect us to finish around where we are. I'd love us to win the next couple so the season retains some real interest, but realistically we are a few players shy of mounting a proper challenge.

I think we’ll finish the season strong and beat last seasons points total by one or two points.

It doesn't seem long ago they were in or around the relegation zone and now they are 6th in a playoff position.
