Poor old gaffers he huffs and puffs, yesterday he was not good, DC will probably move him on in the summer, you cannot have a centre forward who struggles to score 10 goals a season. The bigger worry for me is at centre back, both okay footballers, however they are not very tall and the opposition centre forwards easily out jump them to score headed goals. IMO D.C. needs to make up his mind which one he wants to keep in the side and replace the other with Broadbent.

I'm sorry but Gaffney is not good enough for Third div football. He tries his hardest but simply doesn't have the pace or skill to help win games.A must for a move this summer.

I don't think DC will move Gaffney on and I think people are being a bit harsh. He has a part to play with us. He's a great backup option to have.

We can't keep a bloke in the team just to take 3 long throws during a match. Totally agree - effort great but not L1 standard unfortunately

None of them are commanding enough. They do not win enough challenges anywhere on the pitch.

Love Gaffney but was thinking yesterday his time may have come. I agree he was a hindrance rather than a help in attack yesterday - maybe the pitch doesn’t suit.

By no means trying to look for a scapegoat today, I thought that we were excellent in spells and on another day may have won comfortably but I do wonder if Rory Gaffney is due a spell on the sidelines? For all his running and putting his body on the line, 1 goal in 23 for a centre forward is just not good enough..imagine that it was Ellis, there would be a lynching! its obvious we lack a striker full stop, how many crosses went in their box yesterday and there was nobody there?

Have to agree, Gaffney was good today, kept the ball alive upfront most of the first half, link up play was brilliant between him, Ellis and the midfielders, created a lot of chances from long balls lumped into the corners. Second half we were awful, should have killed the game off in the first 45, we had enough chances. Are we saying play Tom nichols instead? Or 5 foot Telford on our crap pitch that means long balls are the better option most of the game? Telford is the same height as Jamie Cureton (5ft8) and he has done pretty well through his career Telford is the same height as Gary Penrice (5ft 8) and he did pretty well through his career

He's not said Telford isn't good enough just stating he isn't suited to our pitch, which is probably fair.

Both Jamie and Gary did well on all pitches and Kyle Bennett was Man of the Match yesterday and he is 5ft 5" - and as far as I saw he was on the same pitch as everybody else

Personally, I’m less worried about Gaffney goalscoring but his form has dropped a little. He’s always a willing runner so it’s hard to lambast him. But a confident Gaffers is more direct than yesterday. Shooting at the avaliable chances. He only needs 2/3% more and he’ll be where we need him.
Telford looked bright in a small cameo getting 2 shots away.
Personally. I’d look at Harrison up front with a three behind of Moore-Bennett-sercombe. I really like what I’ve seen from Bennett in the middle.
With lines and sincs sitting.

If Gafney played through the middle and was challenging and winning all the long balls then I think we would have seen more goals from him. He ends up playing out wide half of the time and its Harrison who the long balls are pumped up too. I am not knocking his effort, and he does hold the ball up well and I am sure he has played a big part if many of Harrisons goals, but he is not scoring many himself right now, nor even getting into many goal scoring positions. Therefore, giving Telford a start (even if he is short) really wouldn't do any harm. There seems to be a lot of muck thrown at Nichals and Gaffney over their playing style and lack of goals. Always seems to me with reference to playing out wide. DC has openly admitted that Nichals is playing to orders out of his natural position out wide. I think the same could be said and perhaps should be said about Gaffney. Correct me if i'm wrong but didn't Gaffney play in a central role when he first came on loan and scored some great goals. This is a team game so the players and manager act together, no player would keep his place if not acting on the managers game plan. So 3 questions regarding performance. Is it the team, is it the player or is it the manager?

Disagree with this. I think he's consistent. Just has his limitations. Consistently inconsistent 😉 Consistenly caught offside.

To be fair that first half shot with his left foot missed the top corner by a foot and the keeper didn’t move but yeah his ball control and passing has been poor the last few times I’ve seen him and other than one goal against mk I think ? He hasn’t scored much either. I agree with the formation and line up you say too.

Tom Lockyer and Daniel Craig scoring record is worse.....which isn't their job per se.....both were out jumped for the goal conceded which is their job (per se). Gaff tried his heart out today, as always, it just wasn't his game. If anything, I feel he was trying too hard. Understand where you're coming from but still think Daniel Craig is better off concentrating on James Bond!

Bennett is to small some have said. Lockyer and craig are too small for many although we were letting in 3 or 4 goals earlier in the season with very big lads playing there[and lockyer]. Now its telfords turn. Nobody is on his case yet but surely young luke russe is just too small despite a good debut? Oh and some want sinclair replaced with a really big defensive midfield player. Luckily the manager isnt fixated on height, hes more interested in ability and desire.
