By no means trying to look for a scapegoat today, I thought that we were excellent in spells and on another day may have won comfortably but I do wonder if Rory Gaffney is due a spell on the sidelines? For all his running and putting his body on the line, 1 goal in 23 for a centre forward is just not good enough..imagine that it was Ellis, there would be a lynching!

We can't keep a bloke in the team just to take 3 long throws during a match.

Gaffers has played 1765 minutes in the League this season, which is equivalent to 19 1/2 games. 7 goals and 5 assists isn't a bad return.

Tom Lockyer and Daniel Craig scoring record is worse.....which isn't their job per se.....both were out jumped for the goal conceded which is their job (per se).
Gaff tried his heart out today, as always, it just wasn't his game. If anything, I feel he was trying too hard.

Dom Telford on the other hand has scored 1 in his 13 League appearances but only clocked up 162 minutes.

Actually think Gaffney played better than Ellis today.

Have to agree, Gaffney was good today, kept the ball alive upfront most of the first half, link up play was brilliant between him, Ellis and the midfielders, created a lot of chances from long balls lumped into the corners. Second half we were awful, should have killed the game off in the first 45, we had enough chances.
Are we saying play Tom nichols instead? Or 5 foot Telford on our crap pitch that means long balls are the better option most of the game?

Been a fan of his but today I think he needed to be subbed for Nichols on about 55 mins as I thought he would of suited the game better (it was one of those weird games) and plus Rory was having a mere! In the end the change to Telford was too late imo and we’d lost any momentum.

He held the ball up today yes, then killed any fast attack which allowed Northampton to get men behind the ball. He got wide and again held the ball up and then passed back or sideways. He’s a hard working player who can’t score.
Enough is enough. Drop him.

If Gafney played through the middle and was challenging and winning all the long balls then I think we would have seen more goals from him. He ends up playing out wide half of the time and its Harrison who the long balls are pumped up too.
I am not knocking his effort, and he does hold the ball up well and I am sure he has played a big part if many of Harrisons goals, but he is not scoring many himself right now, nor even getting into many goal scoring positions. Therefore, giving Telford a start (even if he is short) really wouldn't do any harm.

His effort is exemplary, but his passing is woeful.
