I honestly believe most people are backing the owners and others are taking a neutral view[see what happens]. All i see is a mountain of evidence that everything about the club has improved. The big issue that wont go away of course is the urgent need for a new or redeveloped stadium. Everyone including the owners know this fact and there would be no point in us signing players, hiring a CEO,running a development squad etc etc if they have no intention of providing an improved stadium.

It’s called refinancing or reconsolidating. Refinance is when a company rearranges/restructures/re-banks its own debt. In this case a new owner came in, repaid the debt to the bridging finance company (which was at extortionate rates and the Mem charged to them and came close to foreclosing), lent the company (1883) funds from its own resources and took a charge over the company but not at Wonga rates.... Not sure what you mean by reconsolidating....not a term I have heard or used in financial circumstances. If you mean consolidation then that is something altogether different.
There was no pay off, we are still in debt and more now than we ever have and we are still paying an interest rate to our owners for the privilege. Who is this 'we' you refer to? Do you owe the company money... Of course we are paying interest on the loan, that is quite normal but at least it is going to our owners. Higgs got his money back, and the new owners paid it. Would you expect them to write off the debts? Many people are getting excited about the club going down the drain because they are not in the know or told by the owners of their every move.... I think it is more secure now than it has been for a while. I also expect the current owners have a long term strategy that they are not going to tell fans about, from their background and nature I would expect that. Also the constant drip feeding of inside information and (often) fake news to fans plus a few lies thrown in as happened in the past has now ceased, thank goodness. There are few clubs that have not been able to get new owners even following administration and I would rather have the professional if somewhat benign leadership we have now than the cocksure, defensive, threatening, rumour mongering sort of people we have often had in the past, even if they were 'supporters'.... Err....this!

We're continually told on here by the cheer leaders that the Al Qs ate great businessmen. Businessmen don't do anything for anyone accept themselves. So the easy answer is they've done nothing for us only themselves. If things go well / lucky then it may also pay off for 'us'. Off course the fantasists will continue to pretend they are philanthropists orthat, in some parallel universe, we are owned by a middle Eastern bank. As one of the many businessmen who support the Gas in time and money, and have done so over many years - I object to your uneducated comment Same Here Knowall, i strongly object to to that stupid comment he made

Throughout football their are lots of owners/business people who have simply given clubs massive amounts of money with no sure way of getting that money back.

It really was peanuts to him.

Lots of owners have had to write debts off, which begs the question of what is the business plan behind buying a football club. Very few though have set out with that intention, I reckon the few that did set out to underwrite a clubs costs are Jack Walker, Steve lansdown and possibly Steve Gibson, Dave whelan. The rest just found themselves out of their depths looking for the cheapest exit route. The most baffling thing about the Al Qs is that I count fathom their bud in essence plan or exit route. A x I don't see them as wealthy enough or with a deep enough affection for the club to understand write the costs needed. Only an opinion and no more valid than somewhere else thinking the exact opposite

30 years ago the only things the club owned were player contracts and enough bits n bobs and kit to fill the back of an estate car. The club trained at Keynsham on amateur football pitches and played in Bath at a non league ground. The club has come along way. The club will be spending more on its training ground (purchase and build) than it has spent on anything else ever (including the Mem) That in itself is a massive step forward. Pretty sure it will be DS' money not BRFC1883's, unless DS plan on gifting the club the training ground once it's built? If not, then if it is ever actually built we will just rent the ground as we do our present one. So if for example Rovers had got a loan from NatWest to buy and build the complex the club would still be paying money out to someone. We do not know if the brfc1883 part of the club will be paying rent to its owners ds or a structured repayment.
Either way...if the brfc1883 cant afford to pay ds they may sell up and move on the club lose a training ground. If brfc1883 cant pay NatWest the bank repossess the property the club lose a training ground.
If the club can not have its own training ground then frankly there is no future for the club and it will just be treading water until it goes down to tier 9 of the pyramid to start again as a reformed club like others have had to do.

Only an opinion and no more valid than somewhere else thinking the exact opposite I think if you researched club by club you would find that there are quite a few lansdowns out there over and above the ones you mentioned. The thing that in truth is disappointing is that it appears that our owners require major investment partners to proceed with a really large project like a new stadium. That may yet turn out to be untrue but right now it looks that way to me.
