No, I don’t think we would. Our run before Christmas must have been similar and we didn’t. Blimey that’s poor imo. He’s done a pretty good job there I would have thought. UTG!

Wow! Stupid is what stupid does. Why stupid, they haven't won for 10 or so games, how long do you give a manager to turn things around? Wait until the summer then sack him when you've already missed out on a Play Off spot.

I think the point is that Scunthorpe are a side who shouldn't be expected to be up there anyway so to even be in with a shot of going up is an achievement. Owners and fans have short memories and I'm sure they will look back at this decision with regret when they are sliding down to league 2.

Could go either way for them now who knows. To be fair they were falling out of the play off race with a bad run. I wonder what their budgets like I can’t imsgine its top six

No win in 8 games. Unbeaten away in 4 with draws at Posh and Wigan, only being frustrated at a last minute Wigan equaliser. I guess he’s paid for a woeful home run with only a point out of 4 home games. Still think it’s a poor decision at this time in the season. As ever, time will tell. UTG!

Crazy decision. He has done an excellent job there. Look at some of the names now linked - Tony Daws, Uwe Rosler, Paul Musslewhite, Steve Cotterill, Ian Baraclough, Brian McDermott, Owen Coyle, David Unsworth. I'd much rather Alexander!

I remember leaving a company who were brand new in the field of plastics I was in. Within 4 years of being there I had the southern half of the country bringing in 14 million. My reference just said in his time here Julian helped progress the company. I hate it when football clubs and other just give a few words when they have done extremely well. I feel sorry for the bloke

We also got a last minute equaliser to stop them winning last month.

So, as it stood before bumping this post I'm one of the 4 out of 63 (6.35%) who was backing us to make the playoffs.
Anyone changed their minds after today?
If we win on Monday then the gap to 6th place will be down to 4 points (or possibly 3), with six games to play, as Scunthorpe and Plymouth play each other.

I am ever the optimist, I just so want to get back into the second tier, I was fourteen when we got relegated out of the second tier and it's been a long old battle being a Gashead for my adult life! I do honestly believe we can do it, most of the contenders for 5th and 6th are playing three games against the other contenders in this last seven or so games, everyone is going to be taking points off each other! Scunthorpe play Plymouth, Charlton and Bradford Plymouth play Scunthorpe, Peterboro and Portsmouth Peterboro play Plymouth and Portsmouth Charlton play Rovers, Scunthorpe and Portsmouth Portsmouth play Plymouth, Bradford, Charlton and Peterboro Rovers play Charlton Bradford play Portsmouth and Scunthorpe

We've got a very good home record, but I personally, don't think we'll beat Wigan, Blackburn or Charlton at home. So for me 9th or tenth. Which I think is a still a good season. UTG

Typical that Charlton have suddenly turned into Barcelona right before we play them. Add to the fact we have to play Wigan and Blackburn at home as well, it would take a mircale.

That's down to the new manager bounce, something I assume Scunthorpe were/are also hoping to achieve, perhaps it'll run out of steam by next Saturday, particularly if they fail to beat Rotherham at home on Monday? As, home games wise, beating Charlton is all we reallyneed to worry about for now, as if we fail to do that then the results of the games v Blackburn & Wigan won't really matter anyway. Beat beat Charlton and the game v Blackburn could be a classic. Looking at Monday's games just avoiding defeat may be enough at Fleetwood n order to keep us placed in the chasing pack. Although a win there probably looks the easiest out of our remaining 3 away games and some of our home games.

tenth, which is fine by me, too many teams in front of us to get in play offs, very promising signs for next season beginning to materialize, eg Benno getting better and better , Telford worth signing, Nichols will come good, Bernie developing, back four looking much more solid with Craig as leader, and mayo to return after getting great experience at Swindle, Tom developing all the time, plus development squad players coming through ! think DC is already thinking of next year in his team selections, We are on the march to a great future, up the Rovers! Of course if DC leaves............!
