"..What about a person thats achieved something in actual league management?.." Yeh. Like that Darrell Clarke when he joined us, eh, BBF?

When people say chris hargreaves will be the next manager is it just because he speaks well in interviews? What about marcus stewart? What about a person thats achieved something in actual league management? If it’s someone who speaks well in interviews then Stewart won’t be even considered. Clearly a very good attacking coach though.

I think DC is old and wise enough to make his own decisions, he has a good contract, he is given considerable freedom, and knows that run of results before Christmas would have resulted in the sack at many if not most clubs. Leave DC alone and stop encouraging and wishing for his immediate departure. Tend to agree with your comments. However, DC has already over achieved; if he ever manages to take BRFC into the championship, his stock will rocket, and the big clubs will come a knocking. Waq would then have to kick into “revolution “ mode and forget ‘evolution “ if he wants to keep D.C.

I do not understand the logic, if DC leaves having taken the Gas into the championship or not, that Chris Hargreaves would be appointed manager, he didn’t actually pull up trees at Torquay; surely Waq would go for somebody with a bit of previous success and a manager with some form of network of connections.

Not just about keeping DC by paying wages though is it, need a stadium better than what we have. Like most people, get tired of the same environment. Imagine all.footbsll managers want to be managing at the biggest club possible in front of the biggest crowds.

Yeah Marcus isn’t comfortable in interviews anyone can see that. I get the feeling he’ll get better at a coach but isn’t management material.

Depends if you take 'league' with a capital L or a lowercase l. Personally, as I've always written, I think the difference between success at lower levels and at higher levels (up to Lge 1 maybe) is minimal, especially given the right character and mindset.

"..What about a person thats achieved something in actual league management?.." Yeh. Like that Darrell Clarke when he joined us, eh, BBF? I just meant that all options should be considered. ie marcus stewart, chris hargreaves,an established league manager or an up and coming non-league manager. Some just say chris hargreaves next manager, why?

Who the **** cares that we didn't go up this season? Is DC not making it to the playoffs so much of a thing that his job gets on the crossfire because of it? We're Bristol ****ing Rovers mate, we're right at where our level is, and as much as I enjoy the occasional daydream of Championship football, when it comes, it comes. Being power hungry is what makes so many clubs be yo-yos who can never stay in one division for more than a season.
Here's hoping DC stays with us for another 5, 10, 15 years.
