Why Ipswich? Anyone ever been to Ipswich? Yes, tidy ground, they probably have a decent training ground and have generally been loyal to their previous managers, after all Alf became the country’s greatest ever manager. Hope D.C. stays, but with so many broken promises, timescales, etc. ... l wouldn’t be surprised if he is lured away by one of the bigger Championship clubs in the summer.

DC didn't mention any of these so called broken promises in his e-mail.

Why Ipswich? Anyone ever been to Ipswich? We went there in a FA Cup replay 15-20 years ago, lost 1-0 I think. The thing I remember was all the pubs were packed, we went in one, nice and quiet, wasn't till after a few pints we noticed it was a gay pub!!! Got back to the coach after the game and our driver had been arrested!! The police came on the coach and checked our stuff (while we weren't there) they found empty beer cans in our stuff, so they arrested the driver!!!

The last time l went to Ipswich was a night game, we lost 3-1 in the capital one cup during the 2012/2013 season, l seem to remember one of our full backs scoring a worldly goal. Also, l believe they have what looks like a training pitch right next to the Portman Road stadium. Pleasant surroundings, more uptogether than evolution at the MEM, let’s hope D.C. stays, unfortunately currently Waq & Hani cannot compete with these types of clubs.

Yep,when you go to places like Portman Road which isn't in the top echelon by any means and you see their set-up you just long for our Evolution to' Please get a move on'.

Was that the game where whoever played in goal for us that night was signed and picked up by the team coach midway through the journey or something equally bizarre?

f**k Ipswich they ain’t having him! I know it was 40 years ago but I still haven’t forgiven them yet for paying off the ref in that 2 - 2 draw. Was that when we had Ray cashley in goal and their 2nd goal the ball bounced off of the crossbar bounced off of Ray into the net Bit late joining the conversation here. I'm in my mid 40's now can can still remember that goal. 1st bounce off keeper and in that I can remember. The name Trevor Putney rings a bell but I may be wrong

I hope not given he took the time to personally email me yesterday!! Although the worry is Ipswich are apparently still happy to wait until the summer, so it sounds like they have somebody in mind who's employed elsewhere at present. The sneaky mether feckers.

He was not very impressive and only played 11 times for us. He obviously liked the trip to East Anglia as he has since gone on to play nearly 200 times for Colchester
