My thoughts are if you're not happy with a groups ways or actions including urgency - increase it's numbers thereby increasing it's power. Then attend meetings and have a say in how things can be improved. If you still think things can be done better stand as a commitee member and maybe even a Fan's director role and implement your ideas and initiatives. UTG Contender for best ever post on Gaschat? I don't think what I wrote was that great Hugo

Is this the best vehicle Jon ? Can you remember the end of the season - and the acute lack of urgency shown by the supporters club to engage with its members in light of the catastrophy ?? . UTG . Well, I will back you all the way Jon when the next vote comes up and you stand to be FD. I will certainly have more belief that you can have some impact !

JTS seems to have changed his stance a bit here. If I'm wrong, I'm sure he'll correct me, but following the debacle of our relegation he was all for the Welly Group and BRISA setting up as independent supporters meetings/organisations to shake out some of the lethargy from the Board and also the Supporters' Club. Now he is all for moving and influencing things from within the SC. If, so, this is a change of attitude. Not wrong, but different.

So?
I did the same. I started to have reservations for a few reasons I'm not going to talk about before deciding it wasn't for me. At least its an informed decision

I like Brian but dont have a lot of faith in Brsc as i believe supporting the club does not mean being submissive to the wilI of the board. I take JTS' views on board but they dont like change and it would be very very tough to break the status quo.

I listened to BRISA but thanked them and decided it wasn't for me . I didn't have a lot of knowledge of the Supporters Club very much so set about finding out more. Have i "Changed my stance" well, yes is the answer, my stance and opinion can change regularly, i don't set things in stone, i believe we are all evolving daily and it's healthy to change sometimes. Over the last 5 months i have read thousands of opinions/posts, i've read blogs, i've met and chatted to almost every director, manager, coach, staff, in fact everyone from Tea Lady to Chairman. I've met hundreds of Gasheads and talked to them about our club and all along i've been looking, listening, talking and Learning. And, i respect them all, can things improve? Yes, every single aspect can and needs to. One thing is for sure though, there's an awful lot of people working hard for our club and committing a lot of free time along the way, and i have to salute them. What i will say is so much get's distorted in the passed on word and sadly leads people up a path which is not helpful in my opinion, maybe thats why i like to hear it for myself, conspiracy theories are a plenty, but in reality few actually exist. Bristol Rovers is what you believe it to be, and it changes as you change. Oops, Rambling on again. UTG .

I have tried to and what i find are quite personable people at board level but a huge skills gap.

I wasn't having a go at you, and you don't seem to have taken offence, so thank you for that. I was of the opinion that you saw things regarding the SC differently now, and decided to post my opinions about it on a forum, in case anyone was interested in reading or commenting. That's all it was and is.
