Pompey have averaged 6,000 more fans than Charlton season and their chairman is a billionaire. It would be a quality move for Browner IMHO. Yeah it would be good move , as long as he was first choice he’s 27 and in his prime I would think . I just had a lot look at their head to head with Charlton because I wasn’t sure about my statement of them being as big as Charlton and they’ve won more head to heads and been higher placed in the league pyramid more than Charlton through history. DC also owes Jackett one after he paid up the rest of Bennett’s contract to release him from his contract on the last day of the transfer window. Perhaps this was DC’s way of convincing them to sanction it after they had blocked Bennett’s move to us earlier on in the window?

Judging by LB's interview DC didn't have a single thing to do with it. I watched the interview too and I wasn’t suggesting that DC had forced Brown out, the man clearly has his reasons so fair play to him and I wish him well. I just wonder whether DC would have anything to do with this supposed link to Portsmouth given that he always talks highly of them and the Bennett transfer. DC has a fair few contacts in the game so it’s possible that he could open a few doors for Brown after he had been informed of his decision to leave. I think Brown is still in contract for a year or two so it’s in DC’s interests that he manages to move him on as quickly as possible so he can start planning on who to bring in for next season.

I will be surprised if it is above lg2. Decent player. More of a loss as a character

Brown's out of contract come May so DC's got no control over how he signs him for next season. It seems a bit strange that he seems surplus to requirements at Rovers but apparently good enough for Championship chasing Pompey.

Rovers aren't letting him go because he's surplus though, are they?? Thought LB had to move to London for family reasons??

Haven’t seen a single person who has said that Brown is surplus to requirements, he’s a decent defender for this division. Brown himself, admitted that a move to another club might push him on, we’ve seen this ourselves with Sercombe and Bennett so it’s not a hard concept to get your head around. Didn’t know that he was out of contract in the summer, has that been confirmed? He had an undisclosed contract given to him two years ago, I was under the impression that he was in the second year of a three year contract.

You heard it here first!! Doubling his wages apparently!! Still a legend!! D.C. is gutted to be losing him. Quote from the corridors of Power ?? As we approached the 'corridors of power' this afternoon our esteemed leader was shaking hands with an unidentified middle aged man, couldnt quite here his question but the response from WAQ was 'im leaving', now he could have been talking about what his plans were after todays game, but then again....

Could this be the sequel SNAKE 2 🐍 Slightly off topic but I stopped off at Leigh Delamare services after the game and the Windsor FC squad were there including a certain Barry Hayles. Had a quick chat with him and still one of his proudest moments as a Gashead was turning down the temptation from the dark side!

Lee Browns already replaced. Michael kelly is in the building and ready to fill Lee browns right boot. I know we only seen 10 mins of him but they were an impressive 10 mins.

He's a promising player, but a bit early to be thinking of him as our no.1 choice left back next season. I'd be looking to bring someone else in and have Kelly challenging him for the position.

In his interview he says it ain't only family matters. He wants to further his career and play at a higher level. Five London clubs in the Championship and Charlton might be joining them. Can't see him joining Pompey.

If he's not surplus to requirements why does it sound like DC had made no attempt to renew his contract for next season before Brown informed him he was leaving? Unless it was a case of Pompey or whoever offering may far than we could pay.

Not my view , but just a suggestion, so please no emotionally charged replies. Perhaps brown was no longer in dc's plans ? Perhaps dc thought brown was not good enough this season and behind closed doors the pair of them had a discussion and came to a mutual agreement that if another club shows interest he can go ? Out of respect for brown , the club then come out with the statement that we all heard / read with the various reasons on why he wants to leave, a fabricated, nice story. Could you imagine the uproar if dc came out and said that brown was just not in his plans for next season. Again it's just a suggestion as I personally think brown is and has played well this year and would of preferred him to stay, any thoughts on this take on it???

It will be interesting to see where he goes next as that may give us more answers.

Didn’t bola have a good 10 mins at the beginning of the season and everyone raves about him now after a full season most people don’t seem to want to sign him
