Not knocking Brown, but I wonder if his reasons may after all be partially financial. It only shaves half an hour off time to get to London. Whatever, he gave us good service and now we must do our best to find an even better player to replace him. He said in his radio Bristol interview he wanted to leave for a variety of reasons, one being a fresh challenge. Good luck to him, but not when facing us. We all know his weakness, no pace, can't jump, can't turn and defo can't tackle ! We have plenty of players that can turn him inside out

“He also said he was looking for a new challenge and wanted to join a club where he could achieve his Championship ambitions.” did the ‘journalist’ make that last bit up!?

Brown said in his last interview that we werent ready for the Championship, Portsmouth are, the lad wants to progress... nothing wrong with that.
The problem will really kick in when other players start to realise we are going nowhere fast and follow him out.

It's disgusting to see so many knocks to a man who stuck with us when we were at our lowest and everybody else left, and went on to participate in back-to-back promotions with major contribution, just because he's seen the end of the line here and decided to try a challenge elsewhere.
You treat a club legend, with years of BRFC under his belt, like he's O'Toole just because he said the truth (that we're not ready for the Championship) and chose to earn more money to support him and his loved ones... then wonder why so many players won't sign for us.

Jesus all these people who think others are being disrespectful to Brown. I don't see one negative comment about him except Henbury (which was clearly a joke ffs). Brown is a legend, no doubt. But people have a right to question where he's going, reasons for going etc - or is he now untouchable?
But maybe I should get on the same boat as you all and instead of hoping to get a token fee for a player that we owned, we should instead bash every player we have at the club because Brown is a legend.
Nice f*cking logic there lads. You wonder why people won't sign for us? Maybe because you're too quick to slate our own players and praise Lee Brown who left us. I know where my loyalties lye personally

I would re read the posts if I were you as I don't see anyone knocking brown. Henbury's post was clearly a joke , apart from that there's nothing but praise for the guy. What an over the top post.

Complete overreaction and embarrassing!

Have to say I'm surprised at that. Expected him to drop down a league, thought he was average at best these last 2 seasons. Good luck to him all the same!

But, now he’s gone and we need to replace him and get behind the guys who are here.

Good lord. Brown spent seven seasons with us guys. Sometimes a change of pace is nice. Why does everything need a narrative?

We owe Lee Brown a lot more than he owes us. If he goes to Portsmouth, good luck to him. The bloke is an absolute hero and deserves nothing but respect and adoration in this neck of the woods. Anyone with the brass balls to slag off his choices should have a long, hard look at themselves.

Why is it not possible to love Lee Brown for what he has done for this football club and have an opinion on where he has gone? Of course it’s totally his decision, made for his reasons and I wish him all the very best with his career!

Of course it’s totally his decision, made for his reasons and I wish him all the very best with his career! That's the thing, his conduct, performances and actions give him every right to make a decision that works for him. There are so many things that have to be taken into account when making a decision like this as a player. I think it became clear last season to not only us but Browner as well that it was starting to become a bit stale for him here. Leave having them want more, don't stay too long.
