It seems the Black Cats will be able to spend whats left of their parachute, and according to Ellis Short half the clubs last in L1 don't spend anything on transfers so it should be easy. Bet their first game is Accrington away.

Parachute payments are one of the things I’d abolish if I ever had the power. Agreed by premier league clubs to give themselves every competitive advantage should they need it. Relegation is a risk they should manage like in any other business

Talksport said earlier that the parachute payments will be gone straight away as high wage bill and a FIFA investigation has found that Sunderland have to pay millions because they signed 2 players but not recorded on their books. They had someone on the show who was deeply invested in the club and is very concerned about the new owners coming in and if they dont go up at the first attempt then they will go into administration because the consortium will be able to freely walk away leaving just the new owner who has less money then the owner on his way out. They will need to sign around 17 players in the summer and they guy on the show thinks its all going to go tits up.

I find these parachute payments a reward for being crap. Staff sign contracts stating relegation = paycut. Am I wrong thinking it's that simple

According to some Sunderland fans he was involved in a previous failed takeover attempt and is now bitter towards the club.

It's a strange takeover as the ex Eastleigh owner hardly seems in the Nick Higgs league let alone the ALQ's. If Bolton and/or Birmingham City join them in Div 1 next season then that could be the top 2 or 3 positions sow up before the season even starts.

Yep, as bad as Sunderland currently seem to be they will still be nailed on for promotion and rightly so. In recent seasons we have seen financial basket cases like Blackburn and Bolton make easy work of promotion and Sunderland should be no different.

It's all part of the game lump it or like it as far as I am concerned Sunderland should never be in this position and I hope they get promoted straight away they have the best fans north of Bristol and most certainly in the north east

Where you put he is bitter towards the club, do you think he wasn't telling the truth about Sunderland?

No idea, it was just something I read on one of the Sunderland forums, could be rubbish. I have to say I was surprised to hear the news about the takeover, it's a big step up from Eastleigh to Sunderland.
