What are your own personal match day loves and hates, one of each. I’ll start with mine which are, I love the roar from around the ground when we score. My hate is being given a constant update from some people around me on how the 💩 are doing.

People with no concept of personal space who get closer to me than ex girlfriends have despite having about 5 people’s standing space to their other side.

Same re personal space but when someone stands inches behind you trying to eat a pasty and talk at the same time. Just stand there waiting for a lump of pastry to hit the back of my head! Favourite moments are when one of the regular East terrace whingers is getting on a players back and that player then scores causing a short respite from their bile!

This could run and run...
Love: hearing Irene sung loud and slow; when someone does something great that you just know would be played over and over if we were on MotD; terrace humour; Tote End Boys; but most of all, being there with my lad like I was with my dad before.
Hate: the IRA song; crowd getting on players' backs; that stupid new tunnel that blocks the view at half time and usually gets stuck when being pushed back in to place...

Love: Going mental when we score, crowd getting really behind the team when they need our support
Hate: Idiots dancing to one step beyond, thinking they are still kids. Horses penis song.

Love.Driving from the Potteries it is magnificent to arrive in the ground and be amongst like -minded Gasheads. The feeling of 'Coming Home' is intoxicating. Hate. Away games, the middle -aged Ray Winstone look alike brigade who enter at 5 to 3,watered,hostile and insisting everyone moves so they can sit to-gether.Worst ever were at Shrewsbury and Coventry last season.

Love: The ecstatic scenes when we score (especially if we're turning a game around and coming back from behind, which has happened a lot lately), seeing little kids in their Rovers shirts starting on what's hopefully a life-long love for the team, standing in the Blackthorn end and seeing the sun set over the DriBuild stand (or whatever it's called these days) during the dying stages of a game and thinking that there's nowhere else I'd rather be.
Hate: The turnstiles (my claustrophobic self is always glad to be through, and I've got an irrational fear of getting stuck in one even though I know that people twice the size of me go through easily enough), not being able to go as often as I'd like and the Rory Gaffney song. 'Hate' is too strong a word for the last one, but I'm never going to do the 'wife' thing, I doubt he'd fancy my husband so I can't really sing that bit and won't be making any promises to him. Not that he seems to be going short if everybody else's singing is anything to go by!

Love: premium sausage rolls Hate: queueing for premium sausage rolls to find they don't have any.... Ditto! The sausage rolls were the highlight of this season. Hate walking into the car park and seeing all the ramshackle portacabins etc that seem to multiply every game you go to. There scrap value alone could probably pay for a new stadium.

Dave, I will never forget the afternoon where we bumped into each other on the west enclosure and we ate our premium sausage rolls in unison....

Loves: When we get all verses of Irene instead of just chorus. Chatting to random people stood next to you. Looking at the team sheet A4 handout to check for familiar names (most recently Tom Eaves - he deserved a ripple of applause from us at least, surely, after his stellar turn with us a few years ago). Working with 1000 other gasheads to buy a cheap red card from the ref (one of the main duties on a home fan's job description) and then "Cheerio"-ing with gusto. Mr Angry behind me screaming "you bell-end!" at the ref 5 seconds in. Captain Gas' interaction with the kids. Laughing as my sons go mental when we score. Nauseating opponent getting his comeuppance (memorably this season, Charlie Wyke). I could go on and on... Hates: (well, mild irritants) canned music right after the final whistle. Saharan overcooked dryness of pies. Away team winning the toss and changing ends (actually, that one is a hate).

Love the celebrations in the Thatchers end when we score and when the whole ground is behind one chant
Hate how some people in the Thatchers end just stand there and don’t contribute to the atmosphere

Love - waking up knowing its match day home or away, even the 6am starts to get to buttfuck nowhere 358 miles away - Scunthorpe a prime example lol Finding a pub and drinking with the proper gasheads who are there to enjoy the game and not just be a total cock. The outrageous abuse thrown at some opposition players - just because they're nearby - some people come out with some absolute crackers. The banter with the opposition fans in the pubs before the games. When you leave a game knowing the team have put in a shift - I don't mind losing every now and again as long we've played well and created chances. And probably numerous other things that have skipped my mind.
Hate - people who sit down at away games or stand at home games and contribute absolutely nothing to the atmosphere. We score and they might frantically burst into 2 claps of the hand and possibly - if they're feeling wild - turn their head slightly to the left to look at the person to their left to make sure they haven't overreacted and that their 2 claps was suitable for the situation. Moaners - the knobs who slate everything, the people who never have nothing to moan about, that after a player misplaces a pass, screams at the top of his voice "he's ***g s**t Clarke get him off the ***g pitch, ***g useless Special lady garden, hope he *s off in the summer he's a ***g waste of space" - yep, so are you mate, don't like it go home 👍 And in agreement on the personal space, the stadium illegidly holds 12,300. We usually have around about 9,000, that leaves 3,000+ body spaces, I don't need you to try and wear my shoes.

Loves Night games atmosphere especially when we win - always feels better under the lights The Blackthorn in full song - it always lifts me to this day. When Rovers win and City lose - Always gets me singing the blues !! Sercombe and Bennett favourite players since Monkhouse and Bodin
Hates The twats that enjoy tapping you on the shoulders for fun to get a rise out of you. Those that scream bile at certain players from their first mistake - they don't see all the good work just the mistakes and therefore are useless, lazy ............ Those that scream abuse at DC - hasn't a clue, L1 a step too far, no coaching set up - Coventry away last season the worse ever example. The ridiculous queues at the bars and food outlets

The ridiculous queues at the bars and food outlets I never really get the night games but it is a common like of many people. I prefer the Saturday games myself. Monkhouse was an excellent signing, very effective and almost forgotten about now. He was good in the air, popped up with a few goals, technically fairly decent and good brain. Allowed Brown to get forward. Where is he now?

Love singing, getting a good atmosphere going and scenes when we come from behind or score a late winner. Love hanging out on a sunny day outside the clubhouse drinking a thatchers and checking out the faces of the crowd and watching it grow. Love the premium sausage rolls. Love Irene. Loved the send off for Lee Brown. Love taking mates from different clubs and countries. Love the half time rush for a pint and pastry (whatever’s left). Love night games under the lights, the rare Friday matches being a particular favourite. Love Darrel Clarke. Loved it when at the time people now start manically clapping and killing the chant the decibel levels would drop and we’d sing GGMI at a whisper.
Hate the clapping that comes waaaay to soon during GGMI. Hate the overly aggressive chants (but still join in with them). That’s it for the hate, could go on and on with the things I love.

Andy Monkhouse was so underrated by some but imho a vital player to us in our promotion season. Always scores a good goal and won a lot of headers out wide and could spot a pass. Seems his career has faded since he left us for Grimsby then Alfreton - maybe he had a final swan song with us On 7 July 2017 he signed a one-year deal with Northern Premier League side Whitby Town according to Wikipedia. Who knows next season or if he finally hangs his boots up ?
