Joe Hart may be "gutted" about not making the squad but I certainly am not. Always too cocky and arrogant for my liking. He's confident but never struck me as arrogant. I would be gutted if I'd played throughout the qualifying for the tournament and then been left out for the finals, especially for someone unproven like Pope. I could kind of understand if it was to give a youngster a chance to gain experience but Pope is the oldest of the three keepers. i've got no confidence in Southgate

I think Phil Jones is a great defender. Not sure where the evidence against my opinion comes from? Are you watching the cup final? The bloke is far too slow. WOOSH!

I was acually really impressed with us in the first half yesterday. Best I have seen us for a long while. Great movement and interlink play. We seemed more united as a team.
Which made the 2nd half all the more disappointing as Nigeria probably edged the 2nd half and we will have far bigger tests than Nigeria if we want to get anywhere in this world cup.
John Stones is just an accident waiting to happen.

Well we're 13/2 to fail to get out of the group, so stick your money where your mouth is! 13/2 is actually a very fair price but I would expect us to get out of the group.

I can honestly see two 0-0 draws and a defeat to Belgium. Although I've probably had my expectations suitably lowered by our last few shambolic appearances at tournaments!

Panama I think we’ll beat but Belgium going to be tough.

I had a treble on Friday £1650 from a £20 bet 👍

Quarter finals would be a success for me.
Think the tournament looks wide open. Brazil probably going into it with the most confidence behind them at the moment.

I'm predicting we'll get knocked out at the quarter final stage and it will be a Brazil vs Spain final. I'm looking forward to seeing how Belgium and Uruguay get on and Peru could pull off a shock or two - they drew twice with Argentina in qualifying and beat Uruguay.

In the past, against the so-called 'weaker teams' we still played four at the back, plus a defensive midfielder, when the opposition put ten men behind the ball. We always had four defenders and a dm marking a single striker. We just never had enough players going forward. Now, he will play three at the back, giving us more options going forward.

I think we'll win the opening two games fairly comfortably - may not smash them but I expect us to win both by a 2 goal margin at least. Don't get me wrong, I get the negativity based on previous tournaments; I just feel we look a slightly different proposition under Southgate (as incredible as it is to say that) and I think, that with a lot of the previous failures not making the squad this time, we'll have a bit more self-belief and finally break down some of the more stubborn sides.
Just my opinion of course and time will of course tell; I just have a more positive feeling than the last two/three tournaments.
