DC isn't everyone's cup of tea. His on field achievements are remarkable, but off field he can annoy. But last night, in the car, I listened to GT talking with Lee Johnson. Bluddy 'ell, that pipsqueak talks some nonsense. Everything he says is straight out of some trendy interview manual. Selection is like a Rubik's Cube! I'm not a City fan but I was getting angry as I listened to him spouting trite and meaningless drivel in that smug and slightly condescending way of his. He ducked and dodged almost every question from GT. So give thanks for DC, warts and all!

That’s easily explained as LJ is actually a pioneering artificial intelligence bot, but unfortunately is still in the learning stage so hasn’t yet acquired any intelligence and has to rely on pre-programmed phrases to communicate. 🤖

Either way you can usually rectify the problem by applying a swift hit with a large wrench

First of all can I say that DC doesn't annoy me at all off the field, in fact he impresses more than anoy other manager I listen to. Especially after some of the sh** we have heard previous managers come out with. He says things as he sees them. Johnson last night, didn't sound anywhere near as convincing with his answers, and like you say a lot of it was meaningless drivel. I know I'm not a City fan, but if I was then I wouldn't have walked away from listening to that feeling buzzed, convinced or excited. DC can do that, even the season we came down from the conference he managed that. In fact, that was DC's best interview IMO.

For me, DC's best interview was the one he gave after 'Matthew' jumped ship to sit on the bench at Trashton. I loved the way DC damped down the huge volume of noise being made by unhappy fans almost immediately by demonstrating with every word that it was no big deal, yet showed with a single sideways glance how he agreed that 'it still stinks, though!'.

I like DC a lot, obviously, but if I were a non-rovers fan listening to his interviews I don't think I wouldnt think much of him as he does come across quite arrogant at times and doesn't hide the fact he doesn't really want to be interviewed on occasions. Also he does comment negatively on social media/forum chatter quite a lot and that does annoy me a bit.
'Moody' is probably the best word I can describe him with, but he is here to win football matches not popularity contests so he can carry on as far as i'm concerned.

I disagree, Yeah he can come across slightly arrogant, but that is with the media, which I get tbh. He's very rarely negative or unreasonable about opposition teams and talks a lot of sense.

Doesn't annoy me at all. I like that he doesn't give bland Graydon-esque answers and wears his heart on his sleeve. That's part of why Gasheads love him in my opinion...he just 'gets' it.
Yeah, he clearly doesn't enjoy interviews with Ed Hadwin but then the 'questions' are so bland and pointless, who can blame him? Perhaps if interviewers actually asked questions rather than just gave their own opinions, expecting the manager to agree, they might get better responses.

Had 2 conversations at development matches with him when i asked the names of the young players. He was very engaging and happily filled me in on the info and discussed the merits of dunwald and luke russe with me without a hint of arrogance. At no time did he rush the conversations and spoke to me as if i was a football equal which impressed me.

Completely agree, DC is not only a fantastic manager of the team, but of the whole club, and the fans. He "manages" the fans perfectly with his no-nonsense, straight-talking way, which is often sprinkled with humour. He is by far my favourite ever Gas manager, not just because of the success he has brought us, but the way he has transformed the Gas and made it a more enjoyable experience than it has been for as long as I can remember. LJ's drivel just highlights how lucky we are to have DC.

Had a couple of chats with DC, especially at our recent BRFPA dinner & it comes as no surprise (as I've written about it a lot) that he really is just a bloody good guy.
Clever, funny, down to earth, opinionated & strong morals (but the right ones, hence the success). brilliant motivator, brilliant banter-ist, confident, no pretensions. Happy. The press thing is all part of the psychological game.
He will be going to the top. We can just enjoy the ride whilst were on it.
Oh, and he's passionate that we have 1 more promotion in us under him.

Oh, and he's passionate that we have 1 more promotion in us under him. On a purely selfish level I want him to stay with the Gas for many years to come, and take us to the Championship and beyond. However if he has to leave to be able to one day manage in the Prem, he should be given our blessing, as he deserves to manage higher up with bigger and better resources. But having said that, please don't go DC!!
